I can lift my wing, but as you can see it's been clipped.
The other isn't much different!

When Jack returned I suggested the same, but Anonybird didn't like the idea because predators might catch Jack like how Anonybird's camera has caught me!Birds from the Backyard and Sydney, Australia

Out the door early again this morning! It's not raining right now but grey ...
Happy Birthday Queenie!
*ppfffftt* We like the dappled light.
Is Queenie your Leader?
The dappled light is nice Belmattrons :) Queenie THINKS she's our Leader Hhehhehee!
We hope the clouds don't fall down on you when you go out.
Thankyou Belmattrons :) The clouds are pretty much guaranteed to do just that ... there is a little blue sky but it’s out to sea.
yes... jack must be kept INTACT :O lol
NO wing clipping for Jack! That's NOT funny LaughingWolf! Hheheee.
Wing clipping is a bad idea! But you knew that. Poor little dove.
I had one of these in my dining room the other day . . its wings were not clipped and I had to catch it with a tea towel!
why are this dove's wings clipped? it made me sad to read it.
the wing and the leaf--perfect complimentary colors and a perfect shot by my friend anon....
:)
this is what my doves do when the butcher bird attacks them...
Oh stop your squawking and go visit Sophie!
Yes, I knew that Red Mojo :) Poor little Dove :(
Hhahhaa, picturing you fluttering around the dining room with your tea towel Baino :) How long were you fluttering for? Hhehee
So the Dove can't fly away KJ. It obviously still did or I wouldn't have spotted it. Very sad. Thankyou!
Raise their wings in surrender Simon?
Nice of you to visit Madcap Baroness with Teacup on your head. I haven't been around to squawk!
Thankyou everyone, I'm very tired after a full long weekend and will catch up with blogs starting tomorrow. Hope Queenie had a nice birthday and perhaps scored a new hat :)
Have a good chill out! I hope your busy weekend was good busy and not tedious catching up with dutiful tasks busy :)
The dove is very beautiful, but clipping a bird seems wrong to me. It's like de-clawing a cat; they become defenceless.
;) lol
Happy birthday, Queen! :) I think of you every time I see an Australian holiday on my calendar. Poor dove ... :( And hooray for Jack's non-clipped wings! Have a great start to your week, Anon!
Good ones - but who the heck clips a dove?
Cheers, Klaus
Oh. I wonder if there are pain receptors on the feathers or does one amputate wing bones when clipping wings?
after the trauma with losing jack, it is possible someone is frantically looking for this dove?
oh the thought of it....
:)
Tsup*!* I'm hoping that Dove is living somewhere safe if it's wings are clipped ... bird sanctuary for rescued birds possibly? Tsup*!*
My weekend was busy travelling to Northern cliffs on Saturday, Northwestern bush Sunday, then Southeast to an island from Sydney City yesterday. Watching birds of course, Bird ;) The Emerald Dove is beautiful!
STOP laughing LaughingWolf! Sigh.
Heehee, Queenie must be very happy Melissa :) My week starts today Melissa, and have to catch up :O
Someone who loves the Dove clipped its wings, thinking they did the right thing Klaus :(
Further down flight feathers bleed when clipped Ces. That's why only the tips should be cut if need to do so...
It is highly possible someone is looking for their Dove KJ! However, I've seen no posters or classifieds about it.
Tsup*!* Tsup*!* Bimbimbie! This Emerald Dove is indeed in a Bird Sanctuary and safe :)))
Tsup*!* Phew ;) Tsup*!*
Phew! Tsup*!* Phew! If in the wild I would have taken him myself ;)
