Above the front yard! These Galahs don’t have terrific singing voices anyway ;) This post has been entered for SKY WATCH FRIDAY!

I wonder what tune that would play...

Thank you for joining in with Sky Watch this week and helping to make it special.

Tom :O)

Hi Tom! Will have to think of a tune when drinking first coffee for the day ;)I find it 'special' having you first to comment :) Thanks for hosting Skywatch Friday!!!

This is special to me. I don't recall ever seeing a more special and colorful display of birds. Nice post.

How striking!

Very clever!

I think that could be an old INXS tune or one from the Men Down Under :-D

Well that's cute! I very much enjoyed your musical post!

You MUST visit more often Abraham Lincoln! We have rainbow birds on display here ;)

They are Carole! With their toes ...

HAHA, their singing voices are lot higher pitched than those Australian musical examples Miladysa. More like Kate Bush! Hhehheee

Thankyou Michele, the Rocky Mountain Girl :) They are seen more like pests than cute but they do look amusing balancing on the electricity wires ;)

Good song... now I can't get it out of my head. Kick inside. Darn it.
And how did you know I sent my snakes on vacation down under?
It was supposed to be a surprise...

Cheers, Klaus

Hhehheee Klaus, I didn't know, the snakes are all snoozing whilst hiding down here. In the summer we are used to leaping over snakes like the cracks in a pavement ;)

lovely catch for SWF! When we realize how perfect everything is we will tilt our head back and laugh at the sky... mine's up too hope you can drop by.

This is what they call air guitar and the birds are sitting on the strings. Like a madrigal chorus line. I love the jet stream beyond. Hey!

Great description of the photo. They certain do look like musical notes. Perhaps they're singing "the wind beneath my wings". Love it.

Thanks PrettyLifeOnline!

HEY CES! Hmmmm air guitar with no arms? The Galahs do indeed pluck with their toes and wing flapping can add beats to the shreaks called "singing" ;)

I think you might be right about their choice of song Me&MyPuppies!

STOP polluting our skies Belmattrons! You toot a fine tune... Hhehheee

Thanks Melissa! There was nothing I could do to stop them, even the traffic made no difference, including the jet ;)

Thanks Sandpiper!

I'd watch out LaughingWolf, they aren't that small up to 38cm. They do hang out close to the shore here ;)

Thankyou for your comments Carletta, Babooshka, Esnorway, IslandRamblesBlog, Ida and Jennifer :))))))

Many call these "Pink Cockatoos", SandyCarlson but they are in fact Galahs which reside all over Australia including Tasmania :)

Heehee Pat an Arkansas Stamper!! "Leavin' on a jet plane" to Arkansas? ;)

pretty catch for Sky Watch Friday! earth and sky are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books. Mine’s up too hope you can drop by but if you already visited then thanks.

Great minds and all that...

we used to have a view of wires which the pigeons sat on...

we put the keyboard in front of that window and actually played the music they were writing...

laughingwolf said...

at 6'4", i should be able to handle an attack :O lol

Thanks SnapCatch :)

Brilliant minds Caroline ;) That's fantastic music you've performed!! How did it sound with pigeons writing it? Hheehe

I'd like to see that LaughingWolf! Bet even tiny 25cm Jack would win a fight against you! You're not talking about a whole FLOCK of Galahs are you? Hhahhaaaa...

WOW!!!! Dodecaphonic music! Your birds have culture! :)

Wonderful shots!

Caroline said...

Surprisingly good - but maybe that was when Jim was playing it - not me... he claims not to be able to read music.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for your comments Petunia and Anita :))

Hhehhee, little did you know there was actually 'culture' on this blog MerlinPrincesse ;) Schoenberg would be proud!

I have a husband and son who have naturally tuned ears Caroline. Was your playing a bit like how we hear our own voice different from others? Hhehheee. Mine would be the worst!
