I get sleepy after waiting a long time for my food, too, Mr. Pigeon! Hopefully he woke up to some french fry morsels lying around. These are great, Anon! :)

HAHAA, this pigeon was picky Melissa and wanted Chinese for lunch! Thankyou!!

Heehee, welcome Lavinia Ladyslipper! We're all quite enthusiastic about birds here :)

Lucky this fellow wasn't at Wimbelton yesterday. The hawks didn't do the trick on keeping the courts pigeon free and they (the powers that be) had to resort to - ahem - more direct action. Snooze away little guy and stay away from tennis.

Blue Chequer Pigeon is safe Annie, we don't usually play tennis during winter here! Hence the want for WARM Chinese food, even if alfresco ;) I'm glad I missed the ermmmm 'direct action' because the hawks were no good at their job!

hahaha. you have a birds-eye view even at lunch, anon. very well done, especially making mr. or ms. pigeon endearing....

:)

HAHHAAAA, Ms Pigeon is endearing anyway KJ! Look at those unusual white wing feathers adorning the table! She matches the serviettes ;)

Good laugh! The 2nd last had me rofl.
Good choices.

I do not like birds hovering or waiting when I am eating. I am so afraid they may get agressive and start pecking. Some of the birds here are very aggressive. The black birds at city hall swooped on the pedestrians and start attacking them. What would cause such behaviour? Right out of a Hitchcock film.

I assure you Ms Pigeon was extremely relaxed Ces. She didn't even ask for our scraps! Black birds are very clever, and the ones at City Hall might have been protecting their nests. They were in a tree before the city came along? BWARK! BWARK!! Ms Pigeon is cooooing in response to your horror ;)

Reminds me of a pigeon that I saw on vacation a couple years ago with my hubby in Italy. She was missing part of her foot and I walked right up to her, bent down and started talking as if she were a real person. "Oh, what happened to your foot?". We were in the middle of a large piazza and people were beginning to stare. Hubby doesn't get embarrassed anymore, I guess he realizes I just can't help myself.

anon, if birds had a government, you would be attorney general, president, and head of the senate. your love for the winged among us is something special to behold...

:)

chrome3d said...

It was there for 2 hours? I guess the restaurant thinks that the birdy is a regular customer...

People would think the loonies escaped if we got together Indigo-Daisy! Heeeheehawhooo :)

KJ, if I were the attorney general, president and head of the senate of bird government - I'd set myself free! Hahahaa :)

We take our time eating Chrome3D :) The restaurant employees couldn't see the bird! At first, I thought I was the only one seeing a dining pigeon and it was invisible!!! I’m pleased you can all see it :)

one of the few birds i really dislike, the 'rat with wings'! grrr

but your pics are great, regardless of the 'subject' :P lol

When I lived in Dallas I would be lectured on a regular basis about feeding the birds when we dined outside. "Don't encourage them."

I always thought it strange that people would begrudge their scraps to another creature. Clever pigeons figured out a way to make a living in a concrete world.

Love the yawn! Brilliant Capture but bags not sitting at that chair! Been to Manly recently? There's bucket loads of the buggers and not too afraid to nick yer chips either!

Anonymous said...

Thankyou for still liking the photographs of my "rat with wings" LaughingWolf HAHAHAA :)

Debra Kay, I think we all recognise the phrase, “Don’t encourage them"! This pigeon was surprisingly patient, not harassing or asking anyone for a bite. I think it lived there! Hhehee

Heehee, I checked beneath the chair and surrounds Baino and think this pigeon must have been toilet trained!?! I avoid Manly like a plague ... of pigeons!

The pigeon probably has difficulty clicking it's fingers for some service.

Probably CaptainModroom9! Hhahhaaa :)

See pidgeons are lovable too!

They ARE Sharon! Thanks for agreeing ;)

PLease tell me where I can find the "rats with wings". I am so curious after having read your comments... LOL

About blackbirds:
They are a special kind of bird, I think. They are clever and they have a sense of humour or at least they love to tease others. For example: my dog.
My dog sees a blackbird in the meadow and begins to jump at it like a rocket. The blackbird sees the dog, but does not move. At the VERY last moment, the blackbird flies away, the dog is frustrated. The blackbird sits down on a tree right above my dog's head and sneers down with a very satisfied look.

Para nada, LaughingWolf :)
