Want a Drink?

Photographed from a great distance, a Purple Swamphen kissing his own reflection.

You want a drink?

Are you recovered from all the festivities? :)

I just can't get over that birds' feet! They almost look like they were stuck on the wrong bird. Woops, these were meant for an egret, sorry about that ... LOL.

Almost recovered Melissa! My kids don't return to school until tomorrow HAHHAAA (blah). You're RIGHT! Those feet should belong to an egret hehehheee ;)

rofl!

I must admit it took me a while to work out what was happening in those first few shots. Love how you said 'his' - well it had to be didn't it! *grin*

I saw a lot of ducks on the weekend but did not add them to my list... they did not like to be approached :o(

The ducks look beautiful but I have this image of an oily roast duck. I could never eat duck when I was a kid, especially not now. The purple swamp hen's foot looks arthritic. Oh what a vain bird, falling in love with itself. But he is a lovely blue color though. I don't blame him.

My list is those who are photographed and not too blurry Simon :) Although, quality isn't any lower than this Swamphen which was very far away! Were your ducks too fast be identified Simon?

EWWWWW keep that 'oily duck' image Ces and my Chestnut Teals will be safe at dinnertime ;) Don't mind on occasion eating Tai Duck, but oily ... yes ;)

I like the synchronized-drinking-team from Australia.

I'm STILL collecting photos of blurry fricken Fairies Simon. The secret is to never give up! :)

You must be referring to the whole of Australia at this time of year Red Mojo :)

simon said...

:o) BTW what sort of zoom have you got?

Fairies? Sylthes? they are VERY hard to get!

Yes cyaneus Superb Fairy Wrens Simon, have at least twenty blurry photographs of the males now :) Haven't bought an extra 24x optical zoom lens to fit camera but it has a 12x optical zoom and remains the most powerful zoom in a Canon digital compact camera. Suits me fine for local bird shooting :)

LOL @ red mojo - nice one :)

Miladysa, it was too hot for even swimming today - syncronised drinking in the shade only ... :)

Terrible news about your lost digital photos and film Onedia! Also computer troubles!! Ah yes, have a float in our pool with the other birds (even if they aren't up to the floating part yet). Drink?

Goodness! The vines could be retaken after they grow back (HAHA) but photos of the house and associated objects is a terrible loss! Oh dear, the town has shoved dead trees where the vines were ... I'm drinking water being the beginning of what is about to be a VERY hot day, hope your wine and evening help cool things down for you Onedia :)
