Must be careful it isn't any deeper than where my ankles should be.

What a different looking creature... we have nothing like the Purple Swamphen around here that I have every seen.

The Swamphens are almost dinosaur like, apart from their small size Mooky :)

Terribly serious fellow! What gorgeous colors! His bill and forehead look as if he takes them off at the end of the day and sighs with relief. :)

Better birds in the bush than out on the road - they are singularly stupid. They probably taste alright tho! That red bit cannot be there to protect their brains . . they haven't got any!

These are very strange and beautiful creatures.

Phew, good to hear they drowned first Simon ;)

HAAH like he's been carrying around a heavy helmet and shield all day Melissa :)

Hhehehee, now why would a Swamphen want a road built across the bush; the shield's purpose could be to protect it from traffic. I think you have been playing chicken with the Swamphens Baino!

I agree Red Mojo!

Purple swamphen - very unusual :)

Ah - my favorite. The purple chicken! hahaha!
If the toes knows does the nose knows too?

Purple is for Royalty Miladysa!

I have mentioned NOTHING about noses Joy Eliz, but if you would like to try yours out, please be my guest. It has rained lately, so shouldn't be a too terrible experience...

We must be related ;)

What beautiful color, like lapis lazuli.

HAHA, which genes do you and the Purple Swamphens share Miladysa?

You're right Ces, they're more blue than purple. Named by the Europeans whose swamphens are a lot more purple than ours ;)

Ces Adorio said...

WWhy do the Europeans get to name everything?

Anonymous said...

I don't have a first hand answer for that one Ces but it could have to do with the fact their lands were occupied by white man first before claiming other lands as their own and there was the whole Age of Enlightenment...
