Only one leg, but past the shoreline!

very dramatic photos; presumably the other leg went in eventually.

One foot! Hooray! What a gorgeous swan, too.

I gasped when I saw the news about Heath and literally, said, "NO!" I really liked him both as a person and actor. I feel so for his daughter, friends, and family. :( A tragic loss.

Black swans are quite common around and in Sydney waters Melissa :)
Heath was one of the very few young artists within the industry I felt was true to himself and a great Actor; greatly admired. I have watched him very closely from first noticing him and also feel for his family and friends. I'm finding the latest reported drug related findings difficult to believe :(

Lovely majestic swan!

I have rarely seen a black one in the feather so to speak.

Terrible shame about Heath - a tragic loss for all concerned. :[

beautiful peom and song. Camille is the singer..

There will be a fair few black swans posted as we enter the water Miladysa ;) We don't have white swans naturally in Australia. Heath is a tragic loss for everyone.

We are already crying Simon! Camille uses of her voice as an instrument in different innovative ways :)

I've never seen a black swan before, that's neat, looks like one leg's considerably shorter than the other. Does he need some of those corrective shoes?

Hheheheee Red Mojo! The Black Swan has been introduced into New Zealand and is a vagrant to New Guinea but would only be found in zoos your part of the world :)
I can only guess curling the leg under the body keeps the foot warm and conserves body heat - even if Summer! Then again, they like to be dramatic ;)

lovely!!!

I love black swans and black ducks but not black birds. Oh what am I saying? They are all birds.

Well, it's lovely to hear you love black ducks in particular Ces ;)

What Ces said! Lovely! Yes, I too have only seen such beautiful black swans in the zoo. I saw gorgeous trumpeter swans (white) in Iceland, which was also a fabulous experience.

I just wish I had the balance aptitude to do that. I love them but then I found white swans quite a novelty when in Europe.

Trumpeter Swans are named so because of their call TsDuff? Beautiful!

HAHA, it isn't too late to learn yoga or ballet Baino! I was also captivated seeing white swans in Europe ... although unique, we only have black ones here :)

Your explanation of why they are called trumpeter swans just gave me an idea Anon..

Oooooh, does it have anything to do with 'Spring' in your current series of drawings Ces? Hhehhehee

these are so beautiful they could be paintings. the soft greens and greys of the water have me mesmerized.

i can't remember if i told you, but i just recently figured out that my little digital camera has a "movie" mode...and will take 30 second of motion. i'm hoping to capture some shots of the starlings who bath on the roof across the alley. talk about orn porn.
