Midday Variety Winner

King Jack The Runner Up for the 'Most Remarkable from the Midday Variety' Poll is ..... The Laughing Kookaburra! I quite agree Cookie would be difficult to resist when voting in a bird poll, and deserves a place in the Spring Parade somewhere .....!

King Jack The WINNER for the 'Most Remarkable from the Midday Variety' Poll is .....

THE RAINBOW LORIKEETS!!!!! Bwark! Bwark! The audience isn't as birdbrained as I thought they might be! The BEST choice my friends, even with the Rainbow Lorikeet's naughty post!

King Jack Thank you all for participating in the Midday Variety poll, I would like to share my music video named Pinball Wizard! Enjoy and focus on ME! ... Jack

Most Remarkable from the Midday Variety Poll Results: With fifteen voting, the Rainbow Lorikeets received 7 votes. Laughing Kookaburra received 5 votes and Australian Magpie received four! Red Wattlebird came in next with 3 votes. Apart from The Noisy Miner, all others received 2 votes each. Noisy Miner received NO votes because NO ONE likes them, not even ME! ... Jack

Anon is taking a week or two away from Bird Anonymous before posting the 'Afternoon Delights'! There has been a sudden addition of a couple to the AnonyFamily (one feathered, one not), other AnonyKids are doing exams, and Anon simply can't keep up! However, she will try to continue posting the Wildflower Series on her photography blog until she returns.

Oh goodie no one is home. We can have a party. What does "sudden addition" mean? I can see having another bird but the unfeathered one, I hope it is not a homo sapien or else that would be really surprising. Either way, I think congratulations are in order. Have fun!!!

Anon, Enjoy your time away. I'll miss your birdies, but i will check out your flowers. They are wonderful too!
Thanks for the video, very fun!

Jack is still madder than Jack MacMad who won The Maddest Madman Competition.

Ah a deserving win by two Aussie icons. Well done tweety birds (or squawky pets in the case of the Lorikeet). Good luck with the new additions, must be demanding to keep you away from the birdyblog. Catch up with you next week . . I'm off to Melbourne on Thursday but will check in next Wed.

Wow! Watching that video makes me feel like I got to be at Woodstock for five minutes. :) ha haaa! And new addition(s) ... do tell! Congrats, Jack, you got my vote, handsome.

Hmmmmm, Undead Enigmas don't read posts.

BOO Ces! HAHA the place won't be THAT empty :) "Sudden addition" means just that! An unexpected accumulation of members to the AnonyFamily. It happens sometimes but I was already struggling with keeping up at work, so something has to have a rest! The unfeathered one isn't my own flesh and blood, you might remember it lives in a tent in our backyard sometimes - adopted homeless person. Thanks Ces!

Enjoy Red Mojo? HAHHAHHHAAAA. See you in the wild!

BoiledEggInADeckchair, Jack is still madder than Jack MacMad who won The Maddest Madman Competition because he is a PARROT!

YES two Aussie icons - makes one proud Baino :) I'll still be visiting you all (when around), just not as often :) You're off flying soon Baino!!!

Jack says he loves you the most now Melissa and already knows he's handsome! HAHA. When returned to posting here, I'll introduce the feathered addition before showing 'Afternoon Delights' :)

Wow Jack looks great no matter what colour he wears! Tehehe
Congrats to the Midday Winners!
Have a nice break Anon, see you at the wildflowers later! :)

merlinprincesse said...

Congrats to Jack.... But I did NOT voted for you this time, cutie! :) Even if I love you the best.... You MUST have competition, cause your head will be so inflated that you'll never be able to enter again in your castle.
Love that song from "Tommy" I used to know all the album by heart! I'm an old hippie...Hheheheh ...
Take care, Anon! And have a good time! :)

harry blown said...

What about the Bottlebrushes?

It's hot today.

Anonymous said...

BREAK Lavender? HAHHAHHHAAAAA. You can see I'm already tipping off the edge :)

GOOD TIME MerlinPrincesse? HAHHAHHHAAAAA ... blah.

What about the Bottlebrushes Harry Blown? Wildflowers are on the OTHER blog. You would probably set them on fire with a chicken drumstick!

harry blown said...

Oh no.

Anonymous said...

I can to read!!! And I'm still tormenting you! Mwhahahaha....because I am the MOST evil!!!

Lavender said...

Oh Anon, I did agonize over using that word - but - well, a substitute failed me!
(Psssst! Its a female Bower Bird!!! How far out is that!?!?!)

Anonymous said...

Oh yes Harry Blown! I might blow out those birthday candles sitting on top of your head - they are dangerous!! HAHA

Perriette, if I do away with you, I will be the MOST evil! You blame me for EVERYTHING! HAH!

"Break" is what I'm avoiding Lavender, but your descriptive word "NICE" isn't close HHAHHAHA. OH goodie a Bower Bird!

Blah? :(

anon, is your life as hectic as mine? already i've made 8 phone calls and it's just past 8:30 am.

not fair!

:)

Anonymous said...

Hah, I missed the voting but as I was going to go for the Rainbow Lorikeets I don't think my vote was exactly vital...

You have two new additions to your family? Congratulations whatever they are :)

Anonymous said...

More like a scream than a "blah", MerlinPrincesse.

Yes it is KJ! I don't have a phone, but my day normally includes at least one hundred emails (wake to twenty). Add to that a feathered one who needs fifty worms and porridge every hour, kids with exams, peak season for work which includes lots of visitors, and a hobo in a tent who shares everything including my computer! I have photographs for posts but not the time to post them ...

HAHA! Take care KJ :)

Hello Bird *TWEET!* Try not to miss voting for the Afternoon Delights, and we'll be having a Pool Party at Christmas! :)

simon said...

now THIS IS the best clip I have seen! what a rugged bird!! :o)

merlinprincesse said...

You can scream as much as you want.... :) I will NOT tell you about my life those days because you'll scream more... :) I feel like having the whole World on my shoulders....
*If I hear you scream from here... I will be very very worried*
Hheheeh....

tsduff said...

this place is a hoot! Miss you though.

Anonymous said...

HAHA Simon, that's Jack, Red-Collared Lorikeet and a true blue rugged Aussie! You can click on his image to read all about him. Our house is becoming a menagerie with the addition of a Blue Tongue Lizard behind the fridge!

MerlinPrincesse - WHAAAAAAAAA!!!!

One bird I don't have yet is an owl, TsDuff :) I'm flittering about when able!

To all those I owe emails to, I am sorry but you are going to have to wait a while before I can reply ... *flutter*

merlinprincesse said...

Heard that! Now being worried!!!! };-}

simon said...

Blue tongue behind the fridge!

We have our spring return of the bush rats... if Monty does not catch them, I put a cage trap out and Dave and I do a little bushwalk and release them.

Jack is SO cool for real!

Anonymous said...

Have a feeling it's not going to slow down until the New Year, MerlinPrincesse! A yearly occurrence , nothing to worry about :)

Yes, a forty centimeter Blue Tongue, so NOT a baby HAHA. We think it’s Lucy, a lizard we moved from a property that was being demolished and let out into our garden - she's tame :) No bush rats here, but with the house becoming like a zoo I wouldn't be surprised if they smelt their way here! Jack IS cool, Simon :))

Anonymous said...

OH, here I am! Mwhahahahhaa..... And I'm back. Mwhahahaha....

I think the election was rigged!

I tried to vote for the bottle brush but they weren't even on the ballot!

Anonymous said...

OH, there you are (again) Undead Enigma! A bit slow in realising the more comments you leave here, the longer it will take for me to reply to emails ... *sigh*

Not another who didn't vote! All elections are rigged Catnapping hehhee. The Bottlebrushes are on the Photography Blog *sigh*. They don't have wings, but roots!

I should be back here Wednesday! *flutter*

SCAT CAT!

simon said...

gotta say:- i just HAVE to watch Jack do his pinball thing when I crank my computer up at work. Makes me laugh!@

I hear that a certain golf course is now allowed to shoot the ducks that are eating the greens! :o(

Anonymous said...

HAHA a bird has to exercise Simon! If you click on the 'Google' button it can be viewed full screen size (or less so not fuzzy).

That golf course couldn't be in Australia could it!?!

tsduff said...

What kind of owls do you have down under? We have barn owls, screech owls, great horned owls, and burrowing owls just here around my house. They are nice to hear at night.

Anonymous said...

There are twenty owls Down Under TSDuff! I know a Tawny Owl lives two doors down but will be arrested climbing over fences at night to photograph it :) We probably have too many possums in our trees!

Janice Ykema said...

Im always stunned and amazed when I come here and see some of the captures that you have accomplished.. They are stunning representations of the characters you find in your viewfinder!

Anonymous said...

OH thanks so much Janice :) I had a 'wheel' of American Birds for my viewfinder when a kid! I know you are Canadian but ... memories :))

simon said...

Owls? Yes we have many and one that is called a Powerful Owl. When they fly they make no sound (their feathers feel like dust) and they are as strong as the biggest birds of prey eg Wedge Tail eagle. I had one sitting on our clothes line one night!

Golf course is located in your area Anon......and is on the news

Anonymous said...

Beautiful birds. I wonder how can a bird have these deep colors and glory without knowing it.

Anonymous said...

Simon, our clothesline belongs to Cookie! Sydney is a big place and just shows how busy I am at the moment ... not seen news for weeks :O Just did a search and that golf club not only shoots Native Wood Ducks for digging and pooing on their lawn, but also Ravens for stealing golf balls!?!

Oh a lot of them know about it Xana! Especially parrots :)

simon said...

you found the club..... yep. I must say sometimes the sheer volume of birds can become a problem, especially in an artificial area like a golf course!

Like you , during the day, Cookie lives on the line ..BUT! at night when the wind is in the trees and the moon is like a ghostly gallion tossed upon cloudy seas.....

The owls take centre stage and prey on what they wish! :o)

Anonymous said...

I know Wood Ducks and Ravens have wings but hope the golf club tried re-locating them first!

HAHAHHAAA it's getting spooky Simon; reading your comment as the sun sets! Any chance your owls prey on possums? I demand a future image of an owl on your blog! :)

simon said...

actually... they were eating the neighbours guinea pigs ( true!!)

As for a photo by me... VERY difficult!! :o)

Anonymous said...

Simon, I think you might have just solved a childhood mystery for me! The case of the disappearing guinea pig ...

Oh.

simon said...

oh yes! quite possible Boo book owls will do the same

Anonymous said...

Now to find an owl that likes Possum Pie ...
