Mini flew into the Paperbark tree above me! There is a blue circular tinge in the top left corner surrounding her. Can you see Mini? I was still keeping my eye on the Mynas - they were watching from the television antennas - see one in the distance to the right.
For half an hour she explored the bark and leaves, jumping and flying from one branch to another. It was the highest she had ever been!

Conditions were a photographic nightmare, but I still managed some photographs where you can see her a little. Her silhouetted shape in the bottom photograph is interesting ...

Mini was pulling leaves off the tree and letting them fall to my feet :)
its nice when they seem to acknowledge you!
BTW how big is Mini?? ( give us a clue!)
Yes Simon! She was playing a game and had me running all over the garden looking like a lunatic! It was during this time a couple of other people turned up to watch Mini's 'flight'!
You know, I never measured her with a ruler, and she daily grew a lot! I will work it out, but until the official 'Clue Post', you have many pictures, movies with sound ... HAHA! I have to fly away now for a bit myself ... *flutter*
how in the world could she grow this fast this much?
Tons of worms, KJ! Hheheheh! :) I will make some research... I know a site where they show all the australian birds..Hhehehe.... Well... All the 300 and more of them.... :(
I found 2 birds Mini could be...Hhehehe. But I won't tell! In case I'm wrong!!!! :)
MerlinPrincesse is right KJ! I will also post the recipe for the porridge she ate in the official "What Bird is Mini?" Clue post! Don't forget how quickly the baby Red Wattlebirds grew ...
What if you are right and everyone else is wrong MerlinPrincesse? Wait until I have posted the clues then email your answer and it can be anonymously placed in the poll for everyone to vote. If you are right, I will tell everyone it was your suggestion only if you give me permission :)
I woke up this morning and thought "I wonder how MM is doing?"
Wonderful to discover she's doing great! :)
That's right Miladysa, Mini is doing great and a lot more free than I this week. It is sweet you thought of her when waking :)
This is a short note to everyone, this week is CHAOTIC for me with an INSANE amount of 'things' happening, and so my online presence won't be as frequent as usual. I will visit you all when able ...
Same for me Anon - different reasons Id bet tho....anyhow, just read all the Mini posts TWICE and Im all choked up...off she goes into the wild off yonder - and seems just fine! You all did such a good job caring for her, Well done! Now pass me a hankie!
I hope you are coping with your week better than I am Lavender! It's ONLY Monday! HHAHHAHAAAA *hysterical laughter* Mini isn't off yonder until next post ... ;)
OK! If I can encourage both of you, this is Monday morning 7:52 and I am preparing for a 12 hours shift.... And I work tomorrow too. blah! :))))
Wow! I wonder if Mini's tummy got a little woozy the higher she went! :) I love the shots of her in the tree right after the rain -- she was probably amazed at all the sights and smells.
Our little girl is growing up, (sob, sniff*sniff*) I miss her already. When will she be with her new family? I'm getting nervous.
i'm all choked up too. amazing.
Twelve hour shifts would be nice MerlinPrincesse! Hhehheee. Take care :)
Mini's first choice of tree was very new to her Melissa! Then she came back to our garden which she knew, but not that high up! I felt like she was also telling me she was very ready to leave because she was brave and able :)
I'm pretty sure Mini found her new family before dark that day Red Mojo :) It was supposed to rain all weekend but the first rain has only just arrived more than two days later which is good! She will have found a home by now for sure:)
She is free as a bird KJ!
