As you know, during the two weeks, Mini spent a lot of time outside of her cage in our backyard. She even practised flying to sit and look over the back wall. However then, I knew she would fly back to me.

The back wall marks a boundary for our Magpies. The Red Wattlebirds protect the boundary and on the other side of it are Myna birds.

Even though by this stage I knew Mini wasn't a Common Myna bird, I'd hoped they would adopt Mini because thought our
Magpies,
Grey-Butcherbirds,
Pied Currawongs,
Rainbow Lorikeets and
Red Wattlebirds wouldn't allow her new family to share our backyard!

These photographs are taken at some distance, and hoped Mini might end up in this territory! It was raining but Mini's cage was left out under the Gazebo (half covered) for her to be sighted, heard and for her to 'climatise' - late morning, past lunchtime.

Hmmmm, have been working on feeling better about her leaving today, it's like losing a Foster Child!
Good luck, Mini! We're all cheering for you, and sending Anon hugs and congratulations on a job well done. There is now another happy and splendid bird out there because of Anon's care and teaching -- I think the best teaching was paddling in the paddle pool. :)
Thank you for posting this progression, Anon -- awesome!
