There was a big show and Jack WAS afraid!
He really looks like he needs a top hat, watch chain and a newspaper under his wing! Such a handsome devil!
HAHA, I would have liked to make a movie of his performance, Melissa. However it's dark in the afternoons for filming and can lighten photographs. He would be delightful if you like drama!
I wonder what he was on about...last week the common myna family were carrying on for ages, yelling and swooping at something in the neighbors tall lawn grass. I went to see what was up - it was a BIG blue tongue lizard! I stayed with the lizard till she got back to cover.
Cant imagine why the mynas were upset with her tho - so perhaps there was a lizard getting on this (gorgeous!) magpies nerves...perhaps...
HAHA, no the giant blue tongue lizard was behind our fridge that day, Lavender :) Next Magpie post will solve 'whom' but I still don't know 'why' :) Birds just don't like anyone/thing new in their territory - it's a good alarm for photographing new birds in my backyard!
"EVIL" has a new name.... "MAGS!"
:o)
Hmmmm, lizards do eat eggs Simon! Mr Magpie is our oldest feathered friend, so he deserves a certain amount of respect. He's certainly dressed for it :)
Testosterone maybe... *sigh*
I wouldn't have liked to try arguing with him MerlinPrincesse :)
Maybe someone got his credit card number and charged a butt-load of catfood!
Hhehhee, maybe not Red Mojo :)
yes you are right! he looks like Mrs Mags here.. she is a bit ruffled too and about 6 years old!!
So full respect to him.
Yes he does look scary. Imagine being attacked by hundreds of them.
Simon, it's usually the females that have a 'ruffled' look. The males spend a lot of time grooming. Mr Magpie would have had to spend quite a lot of grooming time after this temper tantrum! Hheehhee.
You can imagine that if you like Ces, I don't want to!
LOL He looks very uppity! :)
Hhehhee Miladysa, very 'uppity' - more like a penguin!
