HAHHAAA, after watching the Baby Magpie's first swimming lesson from Mr Magpie, I had to try the same with Mini Minor :)

Mary Stebbins Taitt - she was trying to wash her face in her drinking bowl - a signal for her first swimming lesson. HAHA
she looks quite indignant! :o) they are a tough bird!

They do have expressive faces Simon! I think one reason people don't like them is because their faces can look really mean too! I had a Whipbird tease me for an hour last Sunday and STILL didn't see it! :)
She does look cute with porridge on her face. she doesn't seem too enthusiastic about the bath yet.
She's only had a warm bath inside before, Red Mojo. This time I wanted her to try all by herself! She's watched other birds in the swimming pool before and this was just the paddle pool ... :)

ANON!! These Mini posts are FANTASTIC - she is so adorable (despite variety!) and I love the way the whole family is involved - and all the shots are gorgeous - and I want a little baby bird too! Tehehehe Youre one groovy lady! :)
I was working too much to come here and now what do I see???? A new baby! I love the way you rescued it... It is soo cute :) Aother birdie saved be the kind Anon!!! :)
HAHA, yes despite variety Lavender :) The whole family being involved is a necessity due to Mini's demands! HAHHAHHAA. Today she is eating GIANT sized worms every half an hour! Just minutes ago she managed to take a mealworm (organophosphate and hormone free) from the tweezers and swallow it by herself! I will be holding worms out for her to practise this today ... which means much longer feeding times too :)
