THIS explains Mr Magpie's recent pride! Maggie has a little sister ... or brother (too early to tell). I'm admiring what appears to be ugg boots which are a fine addition to the parade (although warm time of the year) ... Jack

Another baby Magpie! This one so far isn't bald yet :)
I don't know much about birds but can see this Magpie is young by the fluffiness.. how old is s/he? Very interesting wood formation for a back drop too!
I haven't seen Mr and Mrs nest, so can't tell you when this magpie's birthday was but she is definately under a year old, Modroom. S/he's still learning to fly and had very first bath in pool yesterday which consisted of sitting and not knowing what to do. Mr Magpie sat alongside and gave kicking lessons :)
Haa haa I would like to have seen the young Magpie wondering what to do during it's first bath experience. Caution is probably the best approach to begin with. I learnt to have a bath but still hav'nt mastered flying yet, but sure the Magpie will have more success than me.
Hehehheee Modroom, it probably didn't help with the Anony Family all watching, pointing and laughing :) I would have taken a movie or photographs but too late and dark due to weather.
Hahahaha! Ugg boots in the pool - no wonder she looks so cross! :)
The pool story reminds me of my budgies, some like to splash in the water, and others will only bathe by rubbing themselves through wet leaves - to each his own? Tehehe
The Ugg boots could explain why s/he just sat there Lavender! Hhahhaaa. I'd drown with Uggs in a pool. It was the baby's first time because the parents gave lessons for a couple of days first, we have been waiting for baby to finally get in after watching from above! Maybe next time there will be more splashing or according to your budgies ... maybe not:)
We have an old bath up the back that used to be the horse watering trough. Unfortunately, the maggies like to bathe in it but often drown. I've had to turn it upside down to stop them. We have two babies at the moment with different parents. God they make noise!
That's sad Baino! We've only had a Wattlebird drown in the kids blow up pool once and felt silly buying a cover for just a paddler, but did for the same reason. They ARE NOISY! I almost made a movie then because baby was being fed, but too dark again today!
I once went to a toilet block at a beach and there was a drowned gull in the bowl. I did not stay, in case you are wondering.
Hope there was a private bush at the beach ElizT! We bought the 'bird pool' to help birds not having to search for water in places like toilet bowls ...
I hate sad bird stories. Please stop.
Cute fuzzy baby, thank you!
Very cute fuzzy baby Red Mojo :)
She is so fuzzy! I love this phase when they're half adult feathers but still have big tufts of baby fuzz! Those furry legs are too funny -- my chickadees and cardinals are jealous, it's cold up here today.
HAHA your chickadees and cardinals need their own version of Uggies Melissa :)
Ugg boots are UGGly but Maggie's sibling is adorable.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!! I am in love! I love the texture of the tree. I wish the bird was not blocking it. HAHAHAHAHA! Actually I said OOOOOOHHH when I opened your blog and saw this beautiful bird and when I noticed the bark, my heart jumped with joy. OOOOOOHHHH!
Yeh... I'm on the OOOOOOOOOHHHH! list too. (I hope that isn't like the "D" list:)))
Fine, fine bird, boots and all.
Pretty, pretty, pretty...
Perriette, Maggie's sibbling is adorable when not squeaking outside my window like now!
Will I have to do a 'bark' series next Ces ;) That's the Eucalyptus we call the 'Lorikeet Tree' :)
S/he is pretty; pretty noisy LDahl! HAHHAAA
Yes, a bark series or tree series will be just GRAND!!!
Flying away now just to do that Ces Hhehhheeee .... there are/will be trees in the current Wildflower Series at PhotographyAnonymous though :)
I thought it was "bwark", not Bark!
It's *bwark* here and *bark* there Perriette!
