Silver Gulls fraternising about being Supermodels! This is a SKY WATCH FRIDAY post!
It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!
Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.
And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions
Great Sky Watch here!
These are great. perfect captures of the gulls!
My Sky Watch Friday posts
They look like identical twins or lovers. Wow. Impressive pictures. I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.
I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

Thanks guys :) I'm commenting to you all in one paragraph as it appears you have done the same on all the other skywatch posts?
Quinttarinto, did you see there are Silver Gulls in my photographs?
Thanks Luke, you saw them :)
They do look like twins or lovers, Abraham Lincoln!
Great birds, and they stay toogether for always this birds, dont they??
Nice weekend.
That is cool!
Project runway, eat your heart out. The gulls are back in town. :)
PS You have a great blog and I'm enjoying your other photos, too, especially the bird baths!
Thankyou Anemone :) Often two broods will be raised in a year, and both adults share nest-building, incubation and feeding duties; which indicates they stay together for at least a season ;) Have a nice weekend!
They need shades, ForThePeople! Heehee
Thanks Wren for your comments (love your name) you must visit again during the week ;)
Hhahhaaa, they ARE posers Tom! Thanks so much for hosting Skywatch Friday :))
Thank you! So you did notice a certain repetition in comments?
Your response is after my own heart! ;)
And you got Silver Gulls, too!
Gives me an idea for my second SWF post on Eastern Standard Time slot.
Cheers, Klaus
Conjoined Twin Myslexia? Those poor air-rats.
lol ...love that 'air-rats' ;)
HAHA, yes Klaus! Repetition indicates the commenter didn't even see my post. I'd rather not have a comment if that's the case. They all behaved themselves afterwards on my other blog ;) You do time slot posts? HAHHAAA!
NO G3TFilms! Hhehheee. These are SUPER MODELS!
LOL... I don't LaughingWolf! These are genuine Silver beauties ;)
These are so perfect they look like photos of woodcarvings! What a great job you've done!
Great shots. They really do look like they are posing. I really like your blogs.
Those are delightful! What fun.
Opposing Gulls, simply amazing.
Super Models? I'm not a fan of those skinny runway-rats either. I will concede they are good photos... that is all!
The subjects did all the work to "perfection" Kathiesbirds :)
Thankyou Ann!
Hhhee, thanks SandyCarlson :)
Actually, I think they are getting along more than fine FishingGuy ;)
G3TFilms, yes they ARE Supermodels and some gulls can't help having a natural willowy, thoroughbred figure! HUMPH! I will concede your last sentence as a positive one... ;)
HUMPH? Your supermodels have humps? What kind a freakazoid agency are you running there? :D
Elegant seagulls!
Wow, You found a couple of super models! Nice catch!
NO HUMPS or lumps because not plump G3TFilms! Not like one I could thump into you :O
Thankyou CaptainModroom9, for recognising style!
I DID Red Mojo! The city is where they gather ;)
These are breath taking! The clearity is perfect and it really does look like they were posing for you! Happy sky watch Friday!
The silver gulls do indeed appear to tske their modelling seriously. LOL They do look superb gainst the blue sky. How clever of them!
These are gorgeous, Anon!! That last one is just perfect! Thank you for sharing your bird's eye with us! :) Have a great weekend and I hope your son is doing well!
Nice series of photos!!!
That is just too cute
Nothing like a thin layer of cloud to keep the glare away for clarity Sandy'sNotes :)
They ARE serious HAHAHAAA! Why are we laughing YourEGTourGuide? They are very clever!
Thankyou Melissa :) You also have a great weekend! School holidays begin this afternoon - OH MY! Son is recovering well and we're all feeling closer to 'normal' again. Thanks for asking :)
Thanks Rose!
Ooops, hope you recover soon Lilli&Nevada :O
Perfect entry for skywatch… all I can say is that “you’ll be the sun in somebody else’s sky”…LoL! Mine’s up too hope you can drop by…
"moine", "moine", "moine", "moine"
Seriously . . lovely and I don't like gulls much! I wish I had time to play Skywatch and Critters!
they are indeed, birdy... but it hit my funnybone ;) lol
Hope you liked my Skywatch images PrettyLifeOnline!
Baino, you have plenty of photographs with sky and critters but agree it takes time to fly around the world once a week! I challenge your 'beautiful' goats against my STUNNING Gulls ;)
You have to watch that funnybone of yours laughingWolf! It might jump away in self defence!
As the good old Bill Laury would put this series is a ripper!
Silver Gull is one of the two birds I have identified while watching cricket in the TV. The other is Magpie Lark. I have a Prizzey guide and I am using it for good effect to tick off my Australian list.
Greetings from a birder, cricket fanatic and Tom Gleeson & 12th Man fan from Sri Lanka!
Inmy excitement yesterday I forgot to leave a comment for these two gorgeous, perfectly plummaged, fine-tailored handsome birds. They are quite the lookers and eye candy.
old as i am, i still have a couple of moves... just in case! ;) lol
I wonder if the 4th of July fireworks will scare them away? They are starting here already and it is too early. Darn kids, having so much fun. My backyard birds are gone!
My skittish dogs are at the kennel-fireworks don't bother the deaf dogs.
I love the artsy quality of these shots-monotone and smooth. You go girl! And of course, Oliver loves the choice of hue, silver/grey is the color of greatness....LOL.
These are perfect specimen. I am back from the Dead. HELLO DAHRLIN!
Love all the different poses -- they are supermodels. Great shots.
fantastic!!!
LL tagged me with the road trip meme. The rules are:
-- Pick five CDs for the trip.
-- Pick three essential items.
-- Pick one outrageous wardrobe item (something that will make you stand out at a party; you must own this item already).
I will pick 3 people to do this.

;)
What a wonderful series of shots. Nice of them to pose so sweetly, but nice also that you have the skill to frame them so beautifully and get such lovely poses. I wonder if there's a seagull version of Australia's Next Supermodel... I especially like that last shot.
Oh - and your birdbath photos have made me crave having one of my very own for my back yard that I could put right in the best spot for taking pictures...
HAHA Thanks Gallicissa! Here is a tip from Australia to you in Sri Lanka which might not be in your Prizzey Guide :) Our Magpie Larks are now regarded as giant monarch flycatchers! This is because they are linked to Australian Magpies only by name ;)
Wasn't it EXCITING Ces! I'm STILL excited you have become a Skywatcher! Thankyou for your description, I can imagine you with the microphone as these birds strut their stuff :)
I believe you LaughingWolf! Heehee
At New Years Eve I saw a Kookaburra watching the fireworks from a telegraph pole but would imagine that most birds would hide. Fireworks take up their air space but generally birds are tucked away on the ground or in trees when it's dark. Your backyard birds will again be there in the morning Ces!
I don't think there would be many deaf birds Debra Kay Hhhaha. HAHAHA!!! Oliver would think these gulls are great with the same colouring ;)
HELLO DARLING! I have to work on my accent :O Thanks BoBoregard :)
Thankyou AphotoAday :) They ARE Supermodels!
Hhehheee, you already know I wouldn't be 'anonymous' if I did that Ruela! MWHAHAHHAAA ;)
Hello Raven (love your name)! Thankyou! These are the two finalists from the Inner City. They work as a team ;) GO get a birdbath!!!
Fabulous. One of my favourites as it' combines the love of birds so sharply shot.
OK! Australian seaguls are snobs! *jealous of pics*....
Thankyou Babooshka!
International Gulls also stick their beaks into the air like that MerlinPrincesse! Hhehe!! :)
Mine are local, I guess, and not international.... They stick their beaks into mud..... *snobs*
ok
you are a Shy girl ;)
Like I said above, squabbles over posing rights. And today's winners are . . .
Great photos and the most beautiful supermodels ever!!!!!
Love from AnneKa in Norway
nice shoots
NONONONO MerlinPrincesse, MINE are 'local', yours are way over.... there overseas! Hmmmm, no wonder you are jealous of our Silver Gulls; yours must be brown from all the mud! Hhehheeee ;)
Hhehee, that won't work Ruela :) I am Anonymous!
Hhehheee, above Annie? Are YOU one of those gulls!?!
Hello, thankyou AnneKa and Esnorway!!!
these guys are so perfect they don't even look real.
Hhehee, they ARE real Editor! Thanks :)
