I would just love to have taken these shots. I'm big bird photographer, but these are just fantastic.

Thankyou for the compliment Babooshka :)

By the look of the expression in the first photo, I think it was trying to escape from you but did'nt get far.

HAHAA, don't be a meanie Captain Modroom9! We were playing together!! You never got that rocking horse from Santa did you? Noisy Miners are real posers ;)

Yeeeehaw!! :) Due to the not-entirely-wanted attention that a black bear is giving my mom's bird feeders, Mom will be taking her beloved feeders down. She doesn't want to endanger herself or her grandchildren, and the bear has destroyed several feeders and made an investigation of their front porch (complete with scratch marks *above* the frame of their door). She's so sad! She loves birds and has never been without a feeder. I told her how much your birds love your bird bath and she's thinking of putting one up. Thank you for sharing these wonderful shots!

Santa threw a snowball at me instead. The noisy Miner looks like an odds-on favourite to win that race I think.

That IS sad about your Mum's birdfeeder Melissa! What about a feeder hanging high in a tree?

Racing solo does have an inevitable winner Captain Modroom9. I'm on Santa's side in the snow fight!

At first I thought this was a frog!. Having the time of his life? He looks like he is having a convulsion, an ecstatic convulsion.

Anonymous said...

HAHAA! *ribbet* He IS having a time of his day Ces. He repeats the same most days ;) No convulsions!

kjpweb said...

I bet on him coming in 1st!
What was that? He's alone? Well - even better odds!
Good ones!
Cheers, Klaus

You just won a refreshing splash of icy water Klaus ;)

Isn't it winter down there? Would the water be cold? I need to read up on Australia's geography and seasons.

Anonymous said...

YES Ces! Our seasons are the opposite to yours! The warmer it is there, the colder it is here! I'm very cold right now. BRRRR!

Now I'm certain that "someone" is putting something strong in that water..... *hips*

Anonymous said...

WHAT are you implying MerlinPrincesse? That it is ANONYBIRD who is tainting their water and STOP pointing to my hips like that! *tweet*!* *hic*

Anonymous said...

Oh, what fun. I just love the expression on his face in the first one.

laughingwolf said...

yes please... double cream, no sugar... i'm sweet enough! :O lol

laughingwolf said...

in all the excitement, i forgot: bird's a cutie :)

Anonymous said...

Lovely to see you again Wren :) The Noisy Miner is always checking to see if we're watching!

HAHA!! This blog does tend to draw the easily excitable LaughingWolf! Double cream, one sugar for me! Which has NOTHING to do with the hips MerlinPrincesse was pointing at earlier ;)

Ces Adorio said...

Who are you calling excitable? Did you call me excitable? I am not excitable!

Lavender said...

Don't stop getting so excited Ces! HAHHAAA :)

I love the Noisies more since photographing them ;) Apart from still racing around the world since Friday, all is back to 'normal' today Lavender :)

Hmmmm, with all those noises and hiccuping I think you might have been the one taint the water MerlinPrincesse! Hhehheee! *tweet*!*

Tsup*!* Tsup*!* It's cousin was playing chicken in the middle of a wet road up here today. True ... hubby is still hearing my scream "BIRD"!! Bird won, our car is a chicken thankfully phew ;)

Anonymous said...

Tsup*!* Tsup*!* Bimbimbie! OH NO! That's TERRIBLE news! Hhahhahaaa!!! You got me Bimbimbie ... does that also make me a CHICKEN!?! ;)

Bimbimbie said...

Tsup*!* I don't know why but I quite often see these little birds dead at the side of the road during wet weather. I counted five once in the same spot. I don't know if they try to help an injured bird and then get hit by a car too :(

laughingwolf said...

don't think y're a guy??? :O lol

laughingwolf said...

uh... pardonnez moi... bloke? ;)

Anonymous said...

Tsup*!* Bimbimbie! The Miners and Mynas are scavengers. When it rains, there are many worms which are squished onto our roads by traffic. Easy lunch for birdies who might not be fast enough to fly between lunch and cars. In regards to your five; they were probably family *sob*

Keep talking to yourself LaughingWolf, it's very entertaining :) MerlinPrincesse must have tainted your coffee! I'm a BIRD! Hhehhee *tweet*

laughingwolf said...

lol :P

good onya, birdy! ;)

Wait a minute.

Are you cheating using a decoy?

Anonymous said...

Hhehheee NO PrincessPepperCloud! This is a real Noisy Miner who doesn't even need batteries! You're just imagining how to have one of these in your bathtub... ;)

Stargazer said...

He looks like he's enjoying the bath!

Anonymous said...
