Tell Mr Sparks he might need to learn how to fly first Heehee *WOOF!*
Thankyou Miladysa, that someone you know was asked the same thing up the road this morning by our next door neighbour. A white cat joined the congregation, so I'm not sure what my neighbour meant by that! We need love this way :)
HA, YES G3TFilms! When we call for Jack outside, his friends all answer thinking their names are "Jack" because they've heard us saying the name for over a year. Today when I thought there was no one in the trees and yelled "JACK!" there was a loud chorus in unison calling back from the very tops!
Tsup*!* Tsup*!* Bimbimbie! There's something funnywunny going on, we placed Jack's 'inside' cage up the Lorikeet Tree and this lot helped themselves to his favourite foods! They either think they're Jack or definitely fibbidywibbing!!
I asked my butcher birds and magpies to fly high and look to the coast for me today.... I put food out for lorikeets and asked the king parrots to keep an eye out too.....
It's good to know that the word is out amongst the lorikeet community! It really looks as if they're saying, "What? Jack, gone? We're on it, Anon!" I kept hoping that as I scrolled down the next photo would be Jack himself, home again. I can just see Milady standing in church to add Jack to the prayer concerns! He's in everyone's thoughts, as are you, Anon -- someday Jack will alight in your yard and look at you as if to say, "Wow! I've had so much FUN, let me tell you all about it ... But first, put me back in my castle, there's no place like home!"
I doubt Jack would be mad enough to visit Bristol - its been cold and wet today.... but I will look out for him...
My mother once lost a Siamese cat, it turned out to have got on a van that had delivered something to us and whose next stop was Bristol (45 miles away)... this story doesn't have a happy ending... I hope Jack's does!
The more in the search party the better Simon - thanks! Although I read Lorikeets can fly 50km from roost to food source, just learnt there's a "One mile - one month" Rule with lost Parrots! This is very reassuring but knowing Jack, I wouldn't be surprised if he did a little travelling wanting to meet EVERYONE in Sydney and that would include Wollongong and the Blue Mountains!
Thankyou KJ :)
There was a Rainbow girlfriend MerlinPrincesse and if she is with him I know who the bed influence was! Jack is very naive about girls ... ;)
AHA! The Lorikeets appear to be "on it" now Melissa! There are a lot more around than usual, inspired by the new blossoms on tree tops to keep them moving! Lets hope Jack recognises the Lorikeet Tree by dessert time :)
I think they know also, but Jack would be very confused Debra Kay. He wouldn't have known there were so many Rainbows out there and he might even think they all look the same!
Thankyou Ces :) Tsup*!*
Heehee, Jack is known to push a joke too far sometimes! Like most kids. Thanks AtomicVelvetSigh :)
It might be a conspiracy Baino!!!! Which would explain why they all answer when Jack is called :( Thankyou for asking that side of Sydney!
OH NO!!!! Jack LOVED the music from the ICE-CREAM VAN Caroline!?!
Thanks for your plea LaughingWolf :) At least we know kids wouldn't think he's a colourful paddle pop. OHHH NOOOO!!!!!
Hear that Jack? KJ has EXTRA goodies for you ... apart from the two stocked, open cages outside, feeder on window sill, back door open until dark in cold Autumn leading to kitchen and nectar spread across our lawn!!!
NO CaptainModroom9! Maybe you could shout ALL ABOARD instead. Jack's wings might be tired by now :)
It's the wrong time of year for babies Ces, unless he returns in Spring! Oh no. The Lorikeets are fattening up on nectar for the Winter right now ;)
One night, about twenty years ago I was out walking Mr Sparks' predecessor. We passed by a hedge and there looking at me was a green and red parrot!
"Hello!" he said.
I nearly fainted! I thought, "Have the fairies actually come for me this time?" lol
Well I told everyone when I got home and they all thought I was dolallytap!
A couple of days later I saw a notice in the paper shop and a picture of a lost parrot. I found the number and told the family about my encounter and they went to the area and found him! Everyone was overjoyed!
I have my fingers crossed that Jack will be spotted and home soon!

Where's Jack?
I asked Mr Sparks and he doesn't know either but he is willing to come over and look.
I'm off to church in an hour or so and I will ask someone I know there to keep an eye on him.
Thinking of all of you and sending love your way x

I look forward to the day one of them says 'There's Jack!'.
