When small clouds join and thicken as the Ravens crow, expect rain. This post has been submitted to SKY WATCH FRIDAY!

Wow, great photos. Seeing what everyone posts in SWF is the most amazing trip around the world through another photographer's eyes. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Quinttarantino!

You're right Pearl Maple, it's like a fast zoom right around the globe without even getting my feathers ruffled! Thanks for your comment :)

oooh! its like something out of an Edgar Allen Poe story!

( sniffle sniffle splutter- still really crook)

Oh! My Butcher bird got annoyed at the doves in the feeder and landed on top of them pulling their feathers out!! Cranky fellow!

:o)

I love the idea of Crows gathering in the clouds with their wings and calling down the rain with their caws.

Perfect Skywatch and bird photos! I love the dark storm clouds. Edger Allen Poe would be proud of you! These photos are a poem.

Thanks for your comments Ida, SandyCarlson and SnapCatch!!!

Drama is my middle name The Bellmatrons ... especially today!!!

Nasty Butcherbird Simon! Hope you get well soon :)

That's what they did G3TFilms! Watch the Ravens on the other side of Sydney and you'll have that idea realised ;)

I'd like to think Edgar Allen Poe would be proud, Kathiesbirds! Thankyou :)

i am tired of saying wow! i need to think of new words to use for your blog. 'awesome, fantastic, wonderful, incredible' are too over used. i am going to research the mattter....

:)

G3T Films said...

Does that mean in some quondam history Ravens were born of the primeval storm and their caws are a lament to their mother spirit to whom they want to return?

Or is that just going to far?

Rose said...

All are nice, but that last one is fabulous!

Thanks for your comment Babooshka!

What about the word “WOOOOAHHHH”! All those words are awesome, fantastic, wonderful and incredible today KJ. However, I don’t want to interrupt your research :)

G3TFilms, that means long ago Ravens were born from a storm and their long drawn out wailings are demanding their mother to give them more attention. That’s why she ruptures with thunder and lightning!

Thanks very much Rose :)

Alfred Hitchcock comes to mind. That is some stunning photography!

I thought of Hitchcock also. Great shots!

Oh Angry mother crow! Turn the drumming sou'easter down; Assuage your ministrations and quiet your children's hard beaked caws and black beating wings, not with the tempest, with warm tiddling showers that bring the rainbows forth.

Or sum'n like that anyway.

Tsup*!* I love it when the black sky and birds compete for attention ... caw boom, caw boom. *!*

Some months ago we had a rave party going on in our T-life when I popped my head and camera outside to watch they all took to the sky to give me a Hitchcock moment Tsup *!*

Anonymous said...

Except Hitchcock can't fly like that T.R. HAHA!! Thanks :)

Thanks Dot, Hitchcock's seagulls were NOTHING compared to Australian Ravens! Hhehhee ;)

NONONO G3TFilms! Something dreadful has happened! Mother Crow can't cry, not even with "warm tiddling showers" SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAS HAPPENED!!! Will be posted tomorrow...

Tsup*!* *SOB*!* We had a Hitchcock moment with a Lorikeet Rave Party earlier Bimbimbie *SOB* Thank you for your *tsups*… no more “caw boom”s please *SOB*

IMPORTANT ANOUNCEMENT: Thank you all Skywatchers for your generous comments! I will try my best to visit you but it will be later rather than sooner. SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAS HAPPENED *sob*

These photos have so much in them with the silhouettes of the ravens and those full dark clouds -- fabulous! Like a story waiting to happen ... Visiting your site is a great way to start the morning, Anon. :)

Squawk Squawk-beautiful shots-but this terrible thing that has happened? Not so good! Gather your flock around you, ruffle up you wings, and let it go.
