No wonder I get confused, if Pacific Blacks and Wood Ducks hang out together how am I supposed to know the difference! All I know is they POO a lot! You should see my pool! Euuwww . . .

HAHHAHHAA, an easier way to identify them (apart from focusing on poo) is the Pacifics don't have any grey in their feathers Baino ;)

They should pick up their pooh and throw it at you. I am a poet too.

If they did that, they'd be tasting poo for breakfast BoiledEggInADeckchair! Like what you might taste like *yuk* imagine the rotten muck!

I just had a look back through your posts and came across the wedge tailed eagles. Aren't they great. Just wanted to add my story.
We had a few of these that used to circle the hill in Junee where I lived. It must have been a younger one I saw one day as it was a bit smaller than usual. When they were around the Pee Wees and Magpies used to try to chase it out of their territory. Anyway we used to get great displays of dog fights between them to watch sitting on our front verandah. One day I was watching them at the usual antics and the wedge tail got sick of the other birds and pulled one magpie straight out of the sky, it didn't get up again.
Years ago also I had a trip out to broken hill and was amazed to see that the wedge tail eagles out there are in a higher concentration to what I had seen anywhere before. There were heaps of them, and I often saw 3 at a time riding on the one thermal spiral, circling at different heights.

Hello Linda May and welcome :) You've seen many Wedge-tails, they are amazing birds! Watch for Saturday's post, although not Wedge-tail Eagles there'll be film footage of a raptor and two ravens! I watched a Raven flicked from the sky on Sunday!
