Caspian Tern

From Tasmania, Caspian Terns go north in winter to New South Wales waters where they almost entirely feed on fish.

Two Caspian from different locations. Both alone and close to 55cm long!

Yay first off the blocks. That's one helluva beak Prince Caspian has there! I bet it looks like a little fishing lure under the water!

I'm a bit slow this morning and most have already gone to bed on the other side of the world Baino ;) You're right! We need a Prince with us when fishing! Heehee

They've got very cold noses. Have they got a cold?

They fly here for Winter because it's warmer than Tasmania, so I'm sure their beaks aren't red from blowing in a hanky BoiledEggInADeckchair! Not yet anyway because it's still Autumn ;)

Das ist einer kloppenheimer. Achtung!! Ya.

The beak looks like like a lobster claw.

Correct, the Prince is wearing the correct head AlbrechtVonKrappa!

You sound like like nervous about that Ces!

I would fly here from Tasmania too at this time of year. Brrrrrr. Not that I'd be hanging out at the beach. Although there was enough sun to go for a walk around our local river system. Mr Spoonbill says, 'Hi'.

PS. Yeah, we can't get broadband on our block; I've been trying to get wireless but the girl has been put in charge of that... I'm sure it will happen some time this decade ;)

I went for a walk around our river system in the freezing cold wind G3TFilms! Very unsuccessful photographic expedition, not even a Spoonbill! Blah.

Blah! Blah!! Blah!!!

What a beauty! And very serious ... he's looking at the camera as if to say, "You won't get ME to smile, Anon, so quit trying!" :D

Anon -- do you sell prints? I just love those kestrel shots!

That's just a gull in disguise...

Ces Adorio said...

No I am not nervous. The bird should be because I like to eat lobsters.

Yes, what about photo printa of Anon preferrably.

If there are typos here it's because I can't find any of my glasses again so I am typing about three feet aqay from the keyboatd.

Hhahaa, they are serious birds Melissa! Besides, if he slightly smiled (like in the second one), he might accidently catch a fly. This is Australia! Heehee. I promise to get better Caspian Tern shots, deserving for print form, when more fly in for Winter ;)

SCAT CAT Mademoiselle Princesse!

Please don't think of lobsters when looking at my Caspians, Ces! I'm sure you'll be turned off by the feathers once finding your glasses! There is a fine image of Anon on my profile page to download and print :)

Oh yes... very posh. This one has a yacht and one of his ancestors was related to Tony Curtis. I kid you not!

I love how you have managed to capture the Captain and the foam of the waves :-D

Anonymous said...

Prince Caspian is related to Tony Curtis the Lobster Man from Mars!?! Miladysa, including the foam was unavoidable due to the Captain not moving when on land ;)

Tsup*!* Tsup*!* Bimbimbie! Ohhh errrr, that's fishy! The Prince must have lost his brawny muscles whilst on holidays sailing the high seas! Perhaps he needs a personal trainer or wardrobe might find some extra stuffing somewhere Heehee!!
