Washing their dark underparts whilst flicking their tails ... don't try floating on this raft!
More hens ahoy.
I said DON'T try floating on these hens Captain Modroom9!
I give the orders around here.
*glug*
*glug*
*drying hands* Drowned ...
OH! You have drowned captain Mushroom?
Lots of birds partying, Anon... :)
I drowned Captain Modroom9 MerlinPrincesse! Aussies are party animals ;)
oh, speaking of parties...I haven't recieved an invitation to Jack's party yet. When can I expect that?
SHHHHHHHHH Red Mojo! It's a surprise which is why you haven't received an invitation. Heehee.
And the moorhens say shoop da shoop da shoop shoop shoop....
And the Moorhens say "querk, kok's, kerk!", Debra Kay. Hhahhaaa
Looks like a hen party to me...
*giggle*
Hhehhehheheee Miladysa *evil giggle*
Anony these are different to the ones on my pond which are black and blue with long red legs and pointy toes, they're more waders than swimmers what are they?
Hmmmm, those sound like Purple Swamphens Baino. Click on their tag in the sidebar to see :)
Gossiping, I assume. Don't they have long legs?
Their legs are longish, but a Swamphen’s are longer Ces. THIS POST shows both the Moorhen’s and Swamphen’s leg lengths.
Thanks for the reminder. I knew one of them had long legs.
No worries Ces, I've only been back for a second - you are FAST!
If I was studying this I would create a code. DS and PL. Dusky-short; Purple-Long.
It sounds like you are studying it Ces! To remember next time ... :)
I will pass the Anonymous Bird Course.
Yes you will Ces! Hhehheheee. There IS going to be a silhouetted game later in the year ...;)
I've always thought of these as a beautiful bird. The contrast of those orange-pink beaks against the dark grey always sparks my imagination.
I think about the folks who draw ducks for the FWS (here in the US), and wish I could do that. I'd want to include all waterfowl...
WOW, those stamps are fantastic Duckless! You're not too duckless because many think Mallards are the one and only duck without even noticing there are others. You can use any of my waterfowl as templates to draw over if you wish :)
