Rest

King Jack Mr Wattlebird is having a rest. How lazy when it's still morning time and Mrs Wattle NEEDS a home! We can see he has bright red wattles and a bright yellow belly. ... Jack

Thanks Lavender, I don't mind you yelling at me for something different to comment with, you may have noticed others do the same time to time :) Hopefully this Wattlebird post is the last with BAD photographs Lavender! They did get better as the Wattlebirds grew to know me whilst building their family which made them easier to photograph :)

I love the bird but what is that tree? The bark is very interesting.

That’s a *Paper Bark* tree Ces, or Melaleuca quinquinervia! There are more phtos at my photography blog from April. I will be posting wild flowers and local trees by the end of Spring there.

For BAD photos, they are pretty durn good! The upcoming wild flowers will be brilliant to see - good thinking Mate :)

You will see a difference even with tomorrow's post Lavender ;) I've been promising a Stroll through Wildflowers for ages but have a huge amount of photographs to sort through and another surprise for the Photo Blog first! Lets hope they get posted before the end of Spring heehee.

How apt Anon, I was going to say that the tree almost looks like a paper mache peeling off!

You were right Ces! It's great compost to mash into the soil too :)

It has lovely color. I feel like climbing it and peeling the bark!

Some paperbarks were used to wrap babies Ces! Don't fall asleep because the Wattlebird might not like it. If you just peel, the tree will enjoy that, and the bird snaps the insects that scurry out! This tree had a treehouse in it.
