The males mostly have patches on their rumps and the females have brown and a more yellowish brown head. Let me know if you can see which is which!
Whoa! That still shot of the Miner bearing down on Cookie is AMAZING! Fantastic work there Anon!
In telling who is who, I can only see that one appears a little smaller than the other - but in the second still shot - he looks like he is smiling with pride - Im ga-ga for these guys!
Great footage of the Miner trying to drive him off too - they sure are pesky! The other day on on our bike ride a Noisy Miners went after my hubby like a magpie does - on our way back past the same tree later, there was a man with a bloody scalp cursing the Miner - Pesky!
In the last photograph, you can just see Mrs Miner watching the boys alongside with Mrs Cookie, Lavender!! Our Miners aren't that aggressive towards people, but I wouldn't like them treating me the way Cookie is being treated here - or the approach on fellows your way!
He should ruddy well throw his deckchair at it. I would.
Mr Cookie doesn't have a deckchair like you BoiledEggInADeckchair! He seems to think throwing his beak around would have a similar effect :)

There is a beak inside that tough shell of yours BoiledEggInADeckchair? I thought you might have a dinosaur or .. something. Careful you don't crack from the inside!

The Noisy Miners are very territorial, MerlinPrincesse. At the moment they have nests all over the place and strive to keep other birds (and males around Lavender)away! Heehee :)
Wow! That still of Cookie with the miners is amazing. I like Mrs. Miner peeking in up on the left. And Cookie ... I love how he goes from meditative to neck snapping "Bugger off!" and back to meditative again!

Luckily Mrs Miner imitating her Mr's actions on Mrs Cookie, wasn't happening at the same time! Mr Cookie is ultra cool the way he meditates Melissa :)
