A sweetie, not very large and wispy feathers particularly on it's stomach.
Very pretty bird, I havent seen this one before, and BLUE eyes? Thats quite a distinguising feature for a bird.....Love your slideshow video, who does that fun song?
Unfortunately his blue eyes were too far away to photograph which is why I included the description, Lavender. Don't ask me that question about who sang the s..o..n..g.. or I will be fined regarding breaking c..o..p..y..r..i..g..h..t.. laws!Shame they don't have an Aussie accent. They are long and slimey and live underwater but not snakes ... their name begins with E and have another 'e' in their name, ending in l. There is more than one of them ;)
Elephanti?!?!!? OH! nICE GROUP!
NO MerlinPrincesse, they end with an L not an I which does look similar to i when typed as lowercase l. Although the letter looks more like a number 1. They also don't use trumpets :)
OOOOps! Didnt even think of that! Sorry! Nice cover tho.
Ah yes Lavender, eels pretending to be elephants is a good cover ;)
So does he/she really eat honey or just the insects around honey?
She/he eats both insects and nectar, Joy Eliz. The nectar is the most of her/his diet. Guess insects are for added protein :)
I am surprised like Mauve Lady! I thought all birds had black eyes... Except for pigeons.... Hehheheh! Nice pics BTW!
How does she/he get the lid off the jar of honey?
All birds have different coloured eyes MerlinPrincesse. Ravens have a white iris, where as currawongs have yellow and the iris of magpies are red. Juvenile Ravens also have blue eyes like this Honeyeater! Look at the eyes in the sidebar :) Thank you!
She/he has a special shaped tongue for eating nectar Modroom. Jack has the same but not so long as the smaller honeyeaters!
The Honey Monster must have the best tongue, I imagine.
Wasn't that Pooh Bear Modroom?
Oh! I've never noticed.... Today I feel blah! :)
No no no no no that is the Honeyeater who has a yellow face MerlinPrincesse :)
Honey Monster was a big hairy cereal eater but not very good at flying.
Oh Modroom. In that case, he won't be able to reach the Honeyeater's honey unless his tongue is extra best!
He only eats it in his bowl with a spoon shaped tongue, I think.
Oh good Modroom! I won't have to send in the drop bears then!
Good, they're bad.
Good, Modroom. We won't be seeing a Honey Monster or its tongue either.
*crunch*
Eating the insect and honey must be like eating chicken with sweet sauce.
Yes it might be Ces, but I'm not going to try eating insects with honey to find out :)
If you eat honey, your face is bound to turn yellow.
There are no such thing as drop bears. My shrink told me so.
It apparently has in the Honeyeater's case Lunatica! You can test your shrink's theory by lying under a tree and spitting upwards Lunatica. If there is a Dropbear in the tree - it will spit back!
My little bird is already off the page!!! I miss it, can't even remember what it was called. boo hoo
tickle tickle
Your little bird is the GREY FANTAIL Perriette.
