Perriette is this bird! Average size 15cm and nest the shape of a wine glass with its long, tapering stem. Very elegant!
Today’s CHILL! It’s REALLY windy here!
Aw Thanks Anon, I wouldve easily thought he was a Wagtail - I will have to look more closely next one I see!
No frost on the garden this morning, but the wind is horrid! Try to keep warm today - Im out of brandy now :)
Thought I was photographing a baby Willie until later saw the different white streaks under chin and cheeks on computer. There is also quite a size difference between the two and this one's shape is more 'compact'. Very cute, Lavender :)
Ice on the windshields and gale winds here! Can almost taste the spray from the ocean! BRRRR... oops :)
what do the birds do in this kind of weather?
brrrrr
Apart from the dozen under our eaves ... hope they snuggle in their nests KJ!
Same as our fantail?
[You knew I meant rhiphidura rufifrons?]
I'm so TINY and CUTE!! How did that happen?
you know so much and i know so little. what kind of nest do lorekeets have?
i have a thousand questions after this one.
:)
This Fantail is Grey, ElizT. No orangey rump or mono brow like the Rufous!
You shrank like Alice, Perriette! Also, even though your favourite is Willie Wagtail, I didn't think you REALLY wanted a willy. Hhehhehheee.
I can't see any lorikeets here KJ, if I don't answer your question you might not ask a thousand more Hhehhheee.
I'm only giggling because trying to warm up!
That looks like a bird here in California too but I can't think of it's name at the moment. Very cute little birdy!
The 15cm spans his measurement to tip of tail Sharon ... which is longer than his body length! Extra tiny and very sweet, easily missed if not for the "twittering" :)
twittering.
that's what i'm going to do the rest of the day.
:)
KJ, you can't be Cookie today then! :)
