Head Lorikeet: Hey! You don't belong here right now Spotty!
Spotty: *Ignoring*
Lorikeets in shocked unison: Ignoring!?!
Spotty might have a hearing problem ... and be colour blind...Later, the Lorikeets delighted in screaming about Spotty's earlier behaviour. The 'discussion' made a very wild pool party, even during laps!
Gossip even made it into the trees! Anyone showing no concern were chased!

Turn your sound down if have a headache! Hhehhheee
Oliver the parrot lovvvvvved the gossip. He wanted to hear it over and over till the battery ran down on my laptop!
It's so hard to fit in these days. Sheesh! Rude! I don't agree with any of that gossip.
The Kestrel is awesome!
HAHHHAAAAA, a Parrot would become excited after hearing that lot Debra Kay!
I KNOW! *sigh* I don't agree with any of the Lorikeets' gossip G3TFilms, it hurts my ears! The Kestrel IS awesome ;)
That's it. These videos made it official. When I die I want to come back as a lorikeet!! Thanks for the laughs, Anon -- these were great!
And the turtle dove's spotted collar is beautiful -- he's got guts getting in with that lot at the pool. :)
The lorikeets in the pool look more like they are members of the World Wrestling federation. That is such amazing backyard you have Anon. I would love to just sit in the patio and listen to their gossip. Theose birds definitely make the trees look and sound full! Are you drinking coffee?
Thanks Melissa, pleased you enjoyed :) The Spotted Turtle Dove was perhaps comparing his collar to the Lorikeets' lime collars. However, got himself into a spot of trouble for even thinking his was to compare! Hhehheeee.
Yes I'm drinking coffee Ces :) Those two in the pool keep checking the other is okay when at the other end - they deeply care for each other :)
Could you not make a special pool for the doves? Elegant, refined, private and quiet.
Hhahhaaa it's true ElizT, that pool belongs to the Lorikeets :) HOWEVER, the second pool was meant for the smaller birds and the Lorikeets still claim that one as theirs also! The third pool - same story. I promise I'll put out another "elegant, refined, private and quiet" pool ElizT - the rowdy Lorikeets and their public pools will have to be outnumbered eventually :)
Well I mistook their actions as "pushy" towards each other rather than beeing koochie-koochie, tells you how much I know about birds. That is so sweet. I guess it's difficult to hug without arms.
They can be sweet Ces :) Having no arms makes them expert snugglers. Jack likes to do that in our necks but might give a nip as a surprise! Heehee
!! my comment got lost!
I said that this looks like the behviour at our feeder! ahahahaha!
Something funny happened to all your comments this morning Simon! I'm still waiting for email notifications about peoples' comments from a couple of days ago but none of the comments were actually eaten! It's good to know my children (I mean Lorikeets) aren't the only naughty ones at home ;)
Nothing wrong with a little bite on the neck every once in a while...unless there's blood? Is there blood? (covers eyes)
Wow what an incredible NOISE!
Your garden is not as peaceful as I'd imagined.
That Dove must be thick skinned! I've never seen anything before run through water like those lorikeets, and I like the way one stops the other getting out of the water by using it's foot at the beginning of the first film.
Opposite where I work there's a major department store and bus stop with a row of about 8 liquid ambers growing on the pavement. Right on dusk thousands of lorikeet's gather in the branches and squark so loudly that you can't have a conversation (nor should you look up to see what's going on if you know what I mean) The council has to pressure hose the pavement daily to reduce slippage!
Hhehhhee, yes sometimes Red Mojo! If Jack is in a very cranky mood and we're trying to put him back into his night time cage but he wants to stay out and join the dinner table! None of us have had to visit a Doctor ...yet :O
The garden is thrilling when the Lorikeets are excited Caroline, but most of the time they are relaxing to watch :)
That Dove is dense in his tiny skull Captain Modroom9! I was pleased with that footage; have been having troubles filming the lorikeets swimming because as you can see - they are FAST!
Hhehheheee, luckily there's a tree belonging to the neighbour opposite and a tree belonging to the neighbour behind where a huge Lorikeet flock scream morning and afternoon, Baino. However, at our place we are blessed with little over a dozen of the best behaving :) That's mostly good so we don't slip down the stairs to the outside loo!
More thrilling with earplugs...
I suppose you could wear earplugs with the thrill of possibly being batted in the head by wings without ducking from hearing one coming! Hhahhhaaaa.
Oh, they are sooo cute, even if they are non-inclusive... Loved the pool party movie, noise and all!
Thanks for joining the pool party Albina. Now sit on a branch to dry off :)
Bless 'em!
It is cold and very windy here today. These little Darlings are such a welcome ray of sunshine!
I have said it before and shall say it again - I want Lorikeets in my garden! :-D
EVEN after hearing all the noise Miladysa? Glutton for punishment ;)
I just found this blog and I love it! Especially the story about Spotty! I myself have a Speckled Dove. He was given in to a vet as a baby. The vet tried to give him to my friend when he went to pick up his cat and he said he knew someone who would take it: me! My Spotty is very affectionate and I love him!
