Hanging

Magpies analysing timetable for pool swimming time via air and tree space.

There can be impatient bird queues at the pools...

... even when I'm mid performing pool cleaning duties!

Some days it's like the Olympics just to have their turn in the pool!

Yes- same here. How often do you clean the pool? I have to do it every week.. :o)

Sunday is pool cleaning day Simon! However, the water needs topping almost daily. This Sunday, the two lorikeets in the film sat on the upturned pool and commenced LICKING the surface when I was trying to scrub its underbelly. That's when I put a little water inside and cleaned the other pool and the second film was made :) You can see at the end flying straight at the other pool for next swim using my head as a diving board!

Good gawd! I think I need hearing aids now! Those birds are very noisy especially on a Sunday! it's funny how they don't share the bath with other species? Are there bird bath bullies?

FINALLY the Bird Stalkers are realising how NOISY it is here! Sunday is actually the quietest because most of the birds visit all the picnics in the parks, Ces :) Occasionally they inter species share but there ARE bullies! You are looking at three types of bullies in the films ;)

I thought they go to church on Sundays. Nyuk! Nyuk! Hehehe.

They do sound like bullies! But you mean the lorikeets are bullies too?

They do a lot of singing on Sundays, but nothing angelic about them Ces! The lorikeets are the BIGGEST bullies! You can see and hear a few swooping poor Maggie to hurry up with her swim in the first film. They are very fast, so don't blink :)

Wow, that's fun! You could charge admission.

It's payment enough receiving your comment Red Mojo :)

I do love lorikeets, but I love mapies too. It's been pretty birdy here lately and if the ones outside don't make noises Oliver will go through his catalogue of bird calls. Bird calls are usually mornings...in the afternoon he switches to electronic noise-telephones and video games. He's very orderly.

Better to hear the birds than fiesta music blasting on the radio! Muchos pajaros coloridos. Ay yay yay! Arriba!

Tsup*!* Tsup*!* I think my lot take showers rather than bathing ... they are sitting in the trees right now swaying about in the wind and rain. Less effort on their part ;)

Gorgeous sun baker ... I couldn't resist a wolf whistle *!*

Very funny Debra Kay, Jack also has a repertoire via the clock. It begins with "hello, good morning" and ends with "I love you" and three kisses unless we kiss back, then the kisses never stop until we leave him alone. He sometimes laughs when it goes for too long ;)

You must REALLY need hearing aides now Ces! El reloj hacia fuera para los loros o ellos coloridos cagará en usted! Aye Yai Yai!!

Tsup*!* Tsup*!* Bimbimbie! Life is said to be slower in Queensland but my bet is your lorikeets are VERY excited sitting in the rain. It's their 'special' getting close time due to all the excitement - or is that nothing better to do? Hhehhehee ;) The pigeon is blushing!

Sqwark *!* Sqwark*!* Somedays you need something stronger than a Tsup*!* Tsup*!*

As for slower in Qld ... yes there's a lot more cosying up time on the branches - from what I'm seeing these showers might put a stop to any further rainbow junior showing up as a last salute to summer ;)

Wow, I have eaten at least one of all those birds. ;)

Excellent photos and vids. I love Maggies.

Sqwark *!* Sqwark*!* Continuous Screeching and Chattering*!* Bimbimbie, you're right! My books say the Rainbows should have stopped breeding in January but no one told the Lorikeets outside. Must be the fault of Weather's indecision as to what season it should be now... or they are simply excited :)

Ewwww that means you've eaten a Lorikeet or Noisy Miner G3T Films! Unless your love for Maggies is just for their taste!?!

Delightful photographs Anon - greenery, sunshine, water and birdies!

I shall be back to play the videos in a short while - school holidays here - hence the snow :-D

Did I say eaten? Oops, I meant 'seen', I've seen at least one of all those birds. I'd never eat a native bird... again... unless I was really, really hungry and there was nothing in the fridge and I'd have to go to the shops while it was raining... then I might eat five or six, you know, just to tide me over ;)

What a great way to start my morning, Anon! :) My favorite parts were the low-flying lorikeets trying to hurry the magpie out of the water ... and the secret lorikeet hiding in the last video. When he popped up and flew away and cracked up!

So YOU are the life saver? :)

Thankyou Miladysa, I completely understand about schedules, queues and lack of time during school holidays for the adults. Ours begin on the weekend but hope it doesn't snow!

I'm REALLY hoping the rain stops soon G3T Films! *sigh*

Heehee!! Those are my favourite parts too Melissa! That Lorikeet wasn't cracking up but telling me to feed it NOW ... LOUDLY!

Noooooo, I'm just their Slave, MerlinPrincesse. They would have survived if I'd just continued cleaning the pool and not let them swim until afterwards ...

Tsup*!* Tsup*!* Those rainbows had me putting down my camera and retreating red faced indoors earlier... looks like they are going for a second batch ;)

oer*!* I hope the sun shines brightly over G3T Films lol *!*

Tsup*!* Tsup*!* Bimbimbie! SEE, the seasons are all mixed up, Lorikeets all over are having a good time when they shouldn't be! G3T Films is a bad influence!!!

Funny comments about checking the timetable : ) Curious colours to your magpies, I must try to get a photo of one over here to show you how they differ ; ) Also love your most recent post, with the tern and the expansive sea, lovely :)

Thankyou, AKiteRises :) The top three photographs are of an immature magpie, but I know their markings differ from the ones your way - looking forward to seeing your Magpie post!
