A week later ...
Hee hee I like the flying feet of the parent you captured. I wonder if they're twins (not the feet, the two young birds).
I don't think there would have been room for two in one egg Modroom :) They also appear to be more than one day apart in age. These birds grow very FAST!
This is so precious. Anon, you are the National Geographic of Birds.
Maybe 'Backyard in Sydney Geographic of Birds', Ces :)
SUCH GREAT SHOTS - Aw Anon - well done! My fave is the last shot - you can tell exactly what the parent is saying! Tehehe
That's a rather vicious looking Mumma there, Lavender! It was the Miner Birds causing trouble of course. Thanks :)
Just keep those butcher birds away from them babies. she appears to be saying "ooooh I oughta..."
The Butcherbird hasn't been allowed within the range of two trees in diameter of the nest. It has been interesting to watch the parents deal with his visits. They are more brutal than he is! Also think the nest extensions were mostly to keep the butcher out! You can read bird calls Red Mojo!
love these!
They are highly lovable Hardwax :)
