Raven

King Jack Look who has decided to be under the leaves instead of on top of them! Must be cooler. Ohhhh, the Australian Raven wears his shackle of feathers for lunch as well as for breakfast! He's a bit of a show-off with the ocean breeze in his hackle ... Jack

You and your camera were in the danger zone!!

It's supposed to be good luck if you get Bird Bombed! Looks like you were tempting Fate...BWahahaha!

I never knew the difference between a raven and a crow but this guy isn't crow like at all. . . I suppose he's after the smaller bird's chicks? I have kurawongs on the prowl at the moment.

Handsome devil! I saw lots of ravens in Alaska -- they'd make these funny gulping sounds and sit watching us from their perches in the evergreens and birches.

Perhaps Raven is more brave at lunchtime because didn't have breakfast Red Mojo :)

HAHA, that's the closest I can get when the birds sit in high branches LDahl! 'Good luck'? Really? Hhehheee.

Think you are right about him being after all the chicks that are here at the moment Baino! We have had a recent Currawong visitor, but they mostly stay a couple of blocks away :) Here is a *LINK* about the difference between our Ravens and Crows.

Hhehheee, Lavender is doing a better job than Jack at describing the Midday Range! To be real, only imagine those sea breezes in the afternoon; we still suffer up until that time :)

OooooH, I wonder how different the Alaskan Ravens are Melissa? They probably wear a warmer hackle around their necks!

he soooooo boootiful. and he looks so tasty too!

Seriously thinking about what he might taste like, think he would be gamey with pugnant potency like that of an emu. BWARK not nice! But if you want to break your neck trying to reach him Catnapping, be my guest };-} *he'll get you first!*

These are lovely shots. The white twig on the right looks like a bird looking up.

Thanks Ces :) You'll have to be more descriptive about your "bird looking up", I can't even find the white twig HAHA.

kj said...

anon, ces finds white twigs everywhere: in libraries, at church, even at the grocery store. mysterious, isn't it?

:)

Anonymous said...

It is mysterious, KJ! In such a case, I'm afraid a new 'description' from Ces will be too involved :)
