If I had a gong, I would gong the Pied Currawong right out of this show! Here he is pretending to be interested in showing his magnificant self, when he's really after MY grape! I didn't kick it out of my Castle to be eaten by a Currawong! ... Jack

Hhehheee, Jack really was upset the Currawong took his grape :)
I wonder who Jack threw it out there for? A Lady Lorikeet. perhaps?
Gorgeous shots Anon, very nice of him to let you snap him! I love them, but not when theres chicks in the backyard Tehehe
Actually, Jack still has an adopted baby Rainbow Lorikeet who daily visits for tossed treats :) I hope the Currawong wasn't really after 'Baby' and not babie's grape! Judging from your Currawong's behaviour - I wouldn't be surprised! Although, this Currawong has a baby of its own ... Thanks Lavender :)
Jack must be kicking himself after kicking out his grape to see a Currawong get it, I know I would be. I hope he's learnt his lesson now anyway.
Jack was screaming and making a loud fuss, which is how I was able to photograph Currawong as close as he is! Jack keeps me well exercised running back and forth to 'save' him, Modroom :)
Is this the same currawong that Lavender drove away with socks from the laundry basket? I was reading about pied currawongs this morning. It's fun to see the photographs and then read more about them.
Hhehheee, no Lavender and myself (and our Currawongs) live quite a distance apart, Ces :)
They've got the most amazing call these guys, really musical. Not too many of them over my way in the summer. "I spy with my yellow eye . ." spooky little rook.
Baino ... I can see you! True Aussie structure :) These birds do sound wonderful, probably the best out of all the birds in the backyard. They are spookier than the Ravens because of their yellow eyes! I once had a cat with the same colourings ... long time ago otherwise there wouldn't be many birds here at all. My cat attacked people - especially those who wouldn't look into his yellow eyes ... BOO!
That looks like one LARGE bird. Pointy too. I would not encourage him to stay around by pelting food at him. Tell Jack to choose his friends more wisely.
He's about 50cm long Red Mojo! That's half a meter and double Jack's size!! I don't think Jack likes him much, he hides in-between his new pot plant when Currawong visits (that's as well as screaming). It was an accident pelting food the Currawong's way!
Its eyes look like little "Life Saver" candies, the lemon flavor!
I've heard of sucking fish eyes ... but bird's eyes Ces!?! Hhehheheeee
Oh yikes! I did not visualize sucking eyes. I just compared the color of its eyes to candy, not that I would like to suck its eyes. Do you think they are crunchy? Eew!
HAHAHAA his eyes would probably squirt like in horror movies Ces! I'm a ghostie now ... BOO!!!
Aw, Jack maybe meant to share his grape with a baby Lori friend - its so cute to think of - perhaps he is hiding a tender side! ;)
Stunning bird, worthy of a grape I'd think. But what a big beak you have Bird... all the better to impale you with my dear!!!
BWahahah!
Hhehheee, it is heart warming, Lavender. Jack and the baby are close friends, so he MUST have a tender side hiding somewhere :)
His beak is threatening looking LDahl. The large size also shows he has a strong character! MWHAHAHHAA
Sneaky bird! Using his beauty to blind us to his true intentions! :) I was away all weekend and now I'm catching up with my blog friends. Good to see your photos again!
Good to see you again Melissa! Currawong must have really wanted that grape to allow me to photograph him so close, he even showed himself from all angles :)
He is gorgeous!
He is Perriette!
Wow, that is one spectacular bird! Some kind of crow is it? I'm off to google Currawong right now. I like big scary crows, but this one looks like a handful!
BOO Bird! You will know now a Currawong isn't a crow but just as spooky looking ...
I love the Currawong.
I know you do TsDuff :))))
