Time for a slosh fifteen minutes North, across the largest remaining sand plain wetland in Sydney.

This was within the half day of sun between storms. Didn't have to slosh everywhere because there was a walkway!
The calm between storms is very picturesque. Were the birds making noises or were they resting up?
The birds were very noisy Modroom! Lost family members trying to find each other again :)

The birds are hiding right now because everyone keeps talking and moving about KJ! I haven't seen Cookie of late but sure he will turn up again soon, just not in the wetland :)
Where are the sand castles?
Sand plains are flat BoiledEggInADeckchair! Sandcastles would make it bumpy.
This beach is daft. I want an ice-cream.
Lovely walk. Were there snakes and turtles? Our wetlands have snakes and turtles, sometimes alligators. I love the walk. We went to a swamp with the same structure, very safe from the creepy crawly animals below but my the vbirds were very noisy. i did not see them either.
Don't you just love the sound of the stillness punctuated by the rustling of leaves and the swaing of branches in the beeze, then the birds, lovely, lovely shade.
I am sorry to hear the birds were looking for lost family memebrs.I feel sad even if I don't know the birds.

It is Wintertime Ces, the snakes are asleep. I will have to find a mask and snorkle to answer your question about turtles, they usually don't make much noise. Would frogs do? The only way to see the birds is to stop and silently wait. Shhhhh ...

Cookie isn't around a lot of the time and is above 'blogging'. I wouldn't be surprised if a Super Model won during these days and times, Ces. Cookie is a MALE Super Model!

I wanted to say something about crack but I started cracking up. I wish I laugh like Cookie. I would do it every day to drive the neighbors away, those I don't like.
Some of us love Cookie's daily laugh Ces. Even if I can't see him, can hear him! Your horrible neighbours might like his laugh too!

Anon, you may be right about using Cookie's laugh to drive the neighbor's. It may backfire. I should have knoewn never to use the birds.
That's right Ces! There is nothing better than to have a bird wake you in the morning instead of an alarm clock! Although, Kookaburras tend to laugh more in the afternoon ... :)
