Pets

To discover they are pets in a park!

Mr Purple Swamphen included!

They have short legs because don't need to go anywhere to look for food!

Blah.

Plus now I know the real reason the two workmen were laughing at the Lady balancing in the tree!

Haha! Better than balancing on a park bench! Hehehe! Thanks for the HBD wishes Anon.

So you mean these birds are residents of a park permanently or temporarily? Instead of migrating for the winter, do they go into a park clubhouse with heating? My that purple swamphen is absolutely the most beautiful blue I have seen on an animal.

Heehee, isn't that what Bird Ladies are supposed to do Ces? The ducks do indeed have a clubhouse! Next to the park is a house on stilts with feathers underneath it and people inside who provide food and water for them. Even though the ducks have PLENTY of water, they choose to drink the chlorinated stuff from the house. I think these people also bought and bred the ducks! However, the blue Purple Swamphens still remain 'wild' because migrated before I left :)

Next thing these ducks will be drinking bottled water! Aaw, the beautiful purple swamphen flew away!!!

Bottled water would be better for them Ces! It's a good thing the Swamphens flew away ... they are free in a natural paradise :) I think I just wished you happy birthday around your midday and not midnight! Another opportunity for chocolate HAHHAHHAAAA ...

It is my midnight and it now today. your list of foods made me salivate.

Anon, these photographs are marvelous. Did I already ask you what kind of camera do you have?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CES! I got it right this time? Eating a hint of rose in a traditional Middle Eatern delight to celebrate - Turkish delight that is, but can't see a turkey anywhere :) I use a Canon Powershot S3 but not for eating chocolate ...

Thanks Anon. Hehehe! I have a Cannon Powershot SD900 10 MP camera but I don't know how to use all the features. I use the Macro settings a lot for photographing my journal drawings. I don't like the fact that it creates huge files up to 7 megabytes. I should get a lower MP camera maybe 7.5 or 5 mega pixels.

What? You ate a rose!!?

These blog photographs are bad quality because reduce their size to be very small, so easy to up and download. Also, the midday shots are too contrasty, Ces. That's the light, not the camera.

The Canon Powershots are great! I'm also learning all the features and keep telling myself to read the book of instructions :) Chose this one because it has a 12x optical zoom which is very handy for bird photographing, also the video capability and like the chunky feel to a camera. It was for my son to take to Japan - a camera that can produce results without trying too much and not break when dropped! If you decide to buy a camera with less MPs, mine has the perfect size at 6.2! Wouldn't go below that size of MPs. No MerlinPrincesse, I don't mean you :)

My Turkish Delight had a hint of rose FLAVOUR! Otherwise too thorny Heehee. Roses are great in cooking Ces!

It's a secret bird gathering...Or a tea party for birds in which the tea is not tea but muddy water.
How'd you get invited?

i don't mean to intrude, but thank you for the camera advice. i have been specifically wondering what pixel size powerpoint to get, so you've saved me time and research.

i sometimes lurk on your blog, anonymous--coming to you from my good friend ces' blog. so since i'm here, let me say your birds and photographs are fabulous. as is your sense of humor.

:)

The middle photo is my favourite, and they all make me want to lay in the shade and be nibbled by duck and a Swamp Hen which has never happened to me before.

Ces Adorio said...

Those ducks have very sharp nibbles (according to someone who has been attacked by crazy ducks that eventually ended up on the dining table).

It WAS a bird gathering Joy Eliz and we don't wait to be invited! Ces does have a birthday party at her house where the water is clear :)

Don't mind lurkers and you can only lurk when intruding heehee - that's what I do to photograph birds! Thanks for your kind words KJ, speak up more often :)

You like the close and personal photograph Modroom! These ducks ended up being too close and personal!

OH DEAR, we wouldn't want Modroom to end up on the dining table Ces!

I second that motion.

Anonymous said...

I didn't do a motion in the first place Modroom :O

I've heard of dog parks but bird parks? That is ridiculous!

The workmen laughing....does it have something to do with pink? Is that why you want to steal Joy's pantaloons?

Anonymous said...

I was wearing JEANS Perriette! It is YOU who has both the ridiculous and crude mind!

Anonymous said...

I didn't accuse anyone of having a ridiculous OR crude mind! Besides, you are the one who mentions pink all the time. And trying to steal Joy's genie pants. HA - I say!

Jeans...likely story.

merlinprincesse said...

You have pink jeans? No wonder they were laughing....

Anonymous said...

You might notice Perriette, I have NOT once mentioned the 'P' word in this blog. Not even here.

No MerlinPrincesse, I don't ... and I also don't have NO PANTS on!

Joy Eliz said...

I just want to clairify... My jeanie pants are not pink - and if Pink is secret code for something you two made up - that is Not what I'm talking about!
Blah!

Anonymous said...

That's good news your jeanie pants aren't 'P' Joy Eliz! SEE PERRIETTE, if I was wanting to steal them I would have known they weren't 'P'! It's too cold to be showing off my 'p' now anyway ...
