This is where we are going ...
The nest is a dome-shaped structure of twigs and other fine material. It's usually placed in a low bush like where we are underneath.
Can you see two Superb Fairy-Wrens? I couldn't when taking the photographs, they were twittering but unseen to the eye. The adult male has a rich blue and black plumage. Females and young birds are mostly brown, the bird hanging above the other is a female.
This is a baby!

They are NOT easy to get a shot of - but BRAVO to you with the chick shot, What a little fluff ball!
The best shot of Superb Fairy Wrens I ever got is on my blog here...mind you - it took the better part of two days to get that one LOL
Cheers
Lavender, they are VERY fast, and this location was almost in the dark! Didn't even know the baby was there :) Your Fairy-Wren is almost lavender! I have a surprise to post later from the next location ...:)
ooooh, a secret place you share. this looks as mysterious as ces' mangrove.
obviously you get an A+ for these shots. !!!
Haha, no crocodiles or turtles like in Ces's Mangrove KJ! These photos don't even deserve a pass, but last ones for this location just before the storms!
I love babiiiiiiiiiiiiiiies! :) The fluffy one is soooooo cuuuuute! Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
Leaves and twigs.
MerlinPrincesse, SNAP OUT OF IT! You are NOT talking to a baby! Unless you think the baby in the photograph can hear you ...
And Superb Fairy-Wrens, BoiledEggInADeckchair WhoNeedsGlasses. Better photos at next location ... :)
You found a secret world with your searching lens! The third photo is my favourite, it's there and not there like the Fairy-Wrens.
Love the creepy tree branches. Better watch for them, though!
True Modroom! Haha, there and not there IS like the fairy-wrens!
You think the branches can wrap around Anonybird, Perriette? They did! I wouldn't stay there after dark, besides can't take photographs then anyway :)
Where are they? I like the photos though, even without the imaginary birds, because I really like trees,
Keep using your imagination Hardwax, it's how I survive. Oh, and liking trees of course :)
Is it later yet? Is it surprise time? :->
HAHAHHAAA they were the last birds I saw when leaving the next location, but might post them first just for you Lavender :) That's Sunday :))
You think a leaf is a bird.
That's a piece of bark BoiledEggInADeckchair!
It's barking mad.
WHO are you calling an 'IT' BoiledEggInADeckchair?
The bark.
Oh BoiledEggInADeckchair!
I think those branches are capable of doing anything they want. Just look how they are waiting for the right moment.
Perriette, I was gone before THAT moment :)
How come I miss this post? I never miss a post ever since I started visiting.
You didn't miss this post Ces, or am I imagining you being here :)
There has been two Superb Fariy-Wrens pecking at my window for the last two weeks now. They're cute to watch, though they tend to wake you up at 5:00 in the morning.
You are very lucky anonymous 'anonymous' to be woken by Superb Fairy-Wrens even at 5 in the morning! I wonder why they are pecking at your window ...?
They started right after we put tinting on my window, maybe they see their reflection and peck at it.
That sounds like a good reson to me :) You might be lucky enough to have more than two waking you at five eventually!
