Red-browed Treecreeper

King Jack Wow! Finally a new face, even if it's mostly hidden! On the delightful afternoon Mini left, a Red-browed Treecreeper crept into the paperbark tree! Bravo for visiting our backyard and showing yourself... Jack

An uncommon bird here that should mostly live in heavy mountain forests, but can also be found in coastal rainforest.

Why are they creeping Modroom? Hhehheee HEY! Is that an EGG about to drop in the second photo?

The tree-creeper looks like she might be a little shy, unlike Cookie who loves to be admired!

I would be a little shy too if I was about to drop an egg without a nest Princess Pepper Cloud! Cookie is a STAR!

Until I clicked to enlarge the second photo I thought I was looking at it's face!!

I don't know why they're creeping.

That IS the face of its baby Modroom, careful it doesn't crack up now! Maybe the Treecreeper is just doing the Shuffle for our Spring Parade and not really 'creeping'. Treecreepers actually climb in shuffling runs, one foot after another :)

Wow! A new face in your Paperbark! Great spotting Anon and groovy shots! Love the soft colouring, reddish yellowish green - what a pretty birdy!
Hooray Anon! :)

love tree creepers! they are such creeps-----ers

Heehee! The greenish colour threw me, it is reflection from the leaves, but her big feet and red band across eyes left no doubt she was a Red-browed Treecreeper! Isn't it exciting when a new bird visits Lavender :)

I was very privileged this creep .... er visited Simon :)

Isn't anyone else excited about the egg!?! Hope I'm not being fired ...

Someone else FINALLY noticed the EGG! HAHA! It's the right colour too Simon, pink-white with finely spotted purple-red. I know the egg isn't that large in the photo ...

I love creepers! We have little brown, speckled ones here -- they creep up trees with their tails fanned out behind them. So nice to meet its down-under cousin! :)

do i see a trace of yellow in its chest, anon?

as much as i love seeing the birds, i keep wondering if my sky is as beautiful as your sky--because i just love how calm and sweetly blue it is...

:)

Creepers are great Melissa! Down-under Creep ... ers say "hello up there!" :O They aren't creeps at all and also very fine looking birds, Melissa :)

Very good question KJ! You can see a trace of yellow but it isn't there! When photographing and identifying birds, it's always important to remember colours can be reflected from near-by objects. In this case it had been raining and the green-yellow is reflection from the leaves :)

The sky is very rarely 'calm' especially in the afternoons because we get ocean breeze in our backyard. It's a nice cool off on Summer afternoons :)

I agree with Modroom - Anon's blog is the place to be for all birdies with the 'X Factor' :)

HAHA, a little birdie must be telling the others to visit Miladysa!
