I feed Kooka cheese as well. Once one took the cheese and my sleeve and refused to let go!

Was your sleeve made of cheesecloth Simon? HHAHHAAA Oh look, I'm laughing louder than Cookie too!

PS: I have had to re-do the Poll for 'What Bird is Mini' because left one out. Apologies to those who already voted ...

King Kook reminds me so much of the kingfishers we have along our creek -- they have a funny croaking call and are bright blue with rings around their necks. I hope you catch Kook's laugh! Then he can join in with all of us silly bloggers. :)

What a beauty!

That blue strip reminds me of a Jay that sometimes visits my garden :)

Cookie is known to plunge into shallow water when hunting Melissa! Lets hope he has a drink from the bird bath and doesn't try 'plunging' for us all to see at the Summer Pool Party! As well as laughing!!

He does like to smash his food about before eating it Lorenzo! He is about 40cm long, so one of the backyards bigger birds. Thanks for visiting :)

More on their way Red Mojo :)

Oh thankyou Onedia! Please visit again - there is more every day :)

The blue is very attractive looking Miladysa! There are also Blue-winged Kookaburras that live at the top of Australia. They have a lot of blue!

ps cheese cloth! ahahahaha!

Frabkly the look on the Kookas face was incredible... like a dog that does not want to let go of a toy.

I had to prise the beak open and then and only then was Kooka happy enhough to fly off my arm

Hhehheee, Kookaburras have strong wills Simon! Also, used to getting their own way, not even Miners phase them! Azure Kingfishers are Australian and found in neighbouring islands. However, we would like to know what your United States, blue ringed neck Kingfisher is named if you know Melissa! GASP! What a sentence :)
