why do i feel like i've just watched something very spiritual, anon? it might be because of your love for these guys....

What a wonderful sound! I agree with kj - somehow spiritual :]

I'm looking at my screen, the video has come to an end and the last frame is frozen. The picture is amazing - I think it would make a lovely fabric or paper print!

[Btw, I have my camera on charge and I swear everything in my garden has taken cover!]

You must get up incredibly early (says she at her PC at 6:15!) I can hear my little black capped fella but buggered if I can get close enough to photograph him . . I may have to resort to tempting him with a meaty morsel! Lovely pics matey! These guys have the most amazing song when they're ready to rock and roll.

It's a wonderful start to a day to watch the birds do their 'things' KJ! You're probably right about it being the most 'spiritual' time for me :) Barbecue with family and friends today at local Reserve, and perhaps putting up the pool - although hard pressed to do both in a day but will try to be jolly!

There will be a silhouette series of birds early in the new year which could make a whole fabric collection Miladysa!! OH, your birds just don't want to be butchered :)

Sunrise at 5:38 Baino, which isn't much earlier than 6:15! HAHAHAA! Dog or cat food is a good choice for tempting your black capped guy Hhehheee thanks, now I won't be able to look at them without thinking a beret or old boy school cap has slipped over their eyes ;)

Thanks Lavender :)

The birds are so quiet where we are now ... I turned this video up as loud as I could so I heard every bit of the bird calls going on at your house! I really loved this, Anon -- there's just something special about birdsong in the morning, and *so* cool to hear something that's so different than what we have ... I'll have to try at our house this spring and post our calls! Thanks so much for this. :)

I thought I saw a big stripey cuckoo one day in leafy Glebe, probably wrong, but I did see a pair of bulbuls in Annandale.

What an incredible song, I wonder what was going on in that conversation...

I would LOVE to hear your morning bird calls Melissa! I'll remind you during my Winter :)
There are a few (dozen) birds in the background and another bird's call will be posted soon ...

YOU ARE BACK ElizT! I mean, you have left Australia HAHHAAA. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a cuckoo or bulbul where you were visiting because those places aren't that far from my backyard :) I have an excellent Kea photograph because my parents were at your place when you were at theirs (New-Zealand anyway)! Hheheee.

I don't think it was spiritual Red Mojo ... it did attract a female ... :)

Very evocative morning film. Glad Mr Butcher found someone to share a branch with :)

That is a lovely sound! Our birds are very quiet at the moment, can't say I blame them, they are conserving their energy!

Even though wobbly head and hands from filming the very top branches, it turned out better than expected Modroom. The second bird arriving was a fortunate event!

Are they conserving their energy to make sudden cooos at your elbow BirdInTheMeadow? Hhehheee, it does look VERY cold where you are ... :)

Conditions are bad here Anonybird, they might decide to eat me if the ground freezes over again! I think that's why they are keeping quiet...

OH NO! You are living in a suspenseful thriller BirdInTheMeadow! Best to think that even if the ground freezes over (again)… you will survive!!!

Wow! I love listening to their calls. What a way to wake up. Wonderful.

Ces, the Butcherbirds are more pleasant to wake to than the baby Noisy Miners :)
