Still Thirsty?

Raven distracted by a bug who was drinking.

Major feat reaching water without jumping in, when one is so Miner.

Two Parrots to the party!

Wow, some striking photos. You must have to refill that thing a lot!

Thanks Red Mojo. The pools are refilled twice daily in our Summer heat :)

Refilling, cleaning, skimming--looking after these pools is hard work, isn't it!

Yes it is ElizT! Hhehhehhee

How Regal is that Raven! Magnificent shot Anon - in the favourites file.

Is the little one a friend of Minnie's?

The parrots always look jolly little chappies and chappets to me :]

Thanks Miladysa, the Raven did all the work! The little Noisy Miner is a Cousin of Mini, both from the Family Sturnidae. The Parrots always let you know how 'jolly' they are at full volume :)

I love ravens!

After the Pool Party there will be quite a few posts with Australian Ravens Simon ... I found a congress of them and where they nested :)

simon said...

really! thats exciting!

I found 2 nesting in Shetland in Windhouse (which they say has 2 ghosts in it)...

they were quite creepy! used a sheep skeleton as the base for the nest! They say the are the keepers of dead peoples souls!

The scene was like something out of Wuthering heights- moors-wind- old home on a hill

That nest and surrounds sounds really creepy Simon! I don't believe the Ravens keep the souls, they just carry messages. People create Ravens as creepy because of fear

I can't believe all of the drinkin' going on in your back yard!

Believe it with your own eyes Princess Pepper Cloud! I thought Aussies were well known for that occupation :)

I love the plants. Amazing to see the varieties of birds coming to drink from such a little bar.

simon said...

I agree :o)

Unfortunately I only photographed the regulars Ces. They are a lot slower escaping from being shot; must be all the drinking. Most of those plants are weeds!

BOO Simon!! Hhehehheee

Well, at least you're making the eating of birds and drinking of pool water sound less attractive to those at the Pool Party Simon! HAHA
