We still have a bit of swimming around to do before out of the water :)

So there is! (I mean a bird that's like a boat).

And I love the markings on the Darter too. Wow.

Am I going to have to read this blog too now?

Hhheee, there isn't usually much to read Caroline, mostly images - although the Bird Stalkers twitter a lot in the comments. Some flutter from one blog to the next ;)

BTW wil take your advise re Mutawinji. I was there last August.. went from Fowlers Gap across... really incredible park, although I only did a quick stop over.... I think with all this rain it might be closed! :o(

The La NiƱa weather pattern has set in on Australia's east coast Simon, it's expected to rain almost non stop for the next three months! Don't know how inland that goes. I might have to visit an aviary for photographing birds to not catch pneumonia HAHA.

I love the shots with the grasses in the water. Very cool.

Nein.

The reflections were so clear that day Red Mojo! Usually the Moorhens here are difficult to photograph because the sun wipes the colour from their beaks and feathers, but the top photos show even better bouncing between contrasting green on an overcast day:)

Dusky Moor and the Moorhens sounds like a soul group from the 70's! I love it.

Thanks Ces :)

You're right Debra Kay! HAHA!!

Cheeky!

I am sure your moorhens are bigger than ours...

Anonymous said...

Yes you are Miladysa! Heehee. Our Moorhens are an average size of 36cm :)

Beautiful Pics of the Moorhens and love the refections on the water and the reeds . A fellow Aussie..

LOL -- I like Debra Kay's comment!

I love these shots -- paddling through the grasses looks like a nice way to pass the day ... although the morehend would probably say, "Pass the day? Ha! I'm hard at work finding food, if you please." Love the blue dabs of color in the green of the water, too.

Morehend? Can you tell I've been cooped up in the germ bin for too long (now Iris is sick). I meant Moorhen ... my apologies. :)

Anonymous said...

Hello fellow Aussie Jeanette and welcome! Thankyou :)

They WOULD make a good 70s soul group Melissa, but it's a bit late heehee. Oh dear Iris is sick also ... if it makes you feel any better we are too and it's been all Summer. It's a GLOBAL flu due to everyone's eratic weather. Thankyou for noticing the blue dabs!!!! :)

After so many of the same comments, what's left to say. But I can't help but agree with Red Mojo and Jeanette - the reeds reflecting in the water were great.

Hello, and welcome Steve :) You have to get in early for unique comments here amongst all the twittering. I agree, the photograph without the Moorhens and just the reeds would be hypnotising!
