We have discussed before how not little they are! Although the last post had a 'little' Little Black Cormorant. This is a big one.

we have cormorants here in toronto... but they must not be natural to the area...huge swathes of trees have died where they have roosted.....and its like a subburb... when you see them... LOTS and lots of them, a total sea of black... perched in trees. Out west on the coast I would see one or two at a time... They have an unusual body profile. (sorry for the stilted writing here... Im just waking up... and wished to comment as I browsed through this lovely gallery...

YOU have some wonderful captures.. I love that bird that you followed up top.. (pretty soon he is gonna figure you are just part of the scene) (smiling here) good job.... and a lovely view of your country... thankyou..

There are 38 differerent Cormorant species Janice, yours are most probably the Great Cormorants who breed only in the north, in the Canadian maritime provinces! They do kill trees with their droppings there!!! They must also be very noisy. Thanks for visiting :)

Or are you accusing me of placing a stuffed bird on a branch?
